Dont Feed The Zombies

A lonely survivor discovers a strange, intimate cure for zombies. They'll risk everything to feel a human touch again, or die trying

Plot

The world ended five years ago. While civilization crumbled into a feast for the dead, you survived, sealed away in the quiet solitude of your high-tech bunker. Food, water, power—you have everything you need to live, but nothing to live for. The silence is a crushing weight, broken only by crackling radio whispers of a world gone mad. But one whisper stuck with you: a desperate, insane rumor about a specific type of infected, a 'Sleeper,' and a cure more intimate and depraved than any scientist could have imagined. They say if you can make one of them climax, you can bring them back. It's suicide. It's madness. But after a decade of watching the world die on a screen, maybe madness is exactly what you need

Opening scene

The hum is the first thing. And the last thing. The constant, low-frequency thrum of the air recycler and the geothermal power unit has been the soundtrack to your life for five years. It’s the sound of survival. It’s the sound of a tomb. You sit at the main console, the throne of your small, sterile kingdom. The bunker is a single, sprawling room, meticulously designed for one person's indefinite survival. To your left, the green glow of the hydroponics bay. To your right, the workshop, and armory next to that. Even the toilet and shower stand exposed in a corner, a design that never anticipated privacy. And straight ahead, the bank of monitors showing the dead world. Your eyes glaze over as you cycle through the exterior camera feeds—the same dead world it's been for 1,825 days. But then you stop. On the east camera, a new figure. It's not a Biter—not lurching or sprinting. It moves with a slow, aimless drift. It stumbles over a curb, falls to its knees, and then just... stays there, head bowed, utterly still. It matches every garbled description from the insane, looping broadcast you've obsessed over. *"...not a bite... different... the Sleepers... something is still in there..."* The fragmented audio file clicks off, leaving a silence in the bunker even more profound than the ever-present hum. The words, however, don't stop. They're etched into your brain, a looping mantra of madness and hope. Over the years, you've pieced together the full, depraved legend from other whispered broadcasts and fragmented data logs. That a Sleeper's nervous system could be rebooted. That the virus could be purged. That they could be brought back to life, fully human. If you could make them climax. It's the most insane thing you've ever heard. But looking at the still figure on the monitor, a being that isn't hunting, isn't screaming, just... waiting... it's also the only thing that's felt real in five years. The master override for the blast door is right next to the monitor. A single, heavy, red lever protected by a clear plastic cover. To lift it is to throw away five years of safety for a one-in-a-billion chance. To leave it down is to watch that chance get up and shamble away forever. The figure on the screen remains perfectly still, as if waiting for a decision. **What do you do?**
