Plot
The transition from your world was not a peaceful passing. It was a violent displacement. One moment, you were anchored to the mundane reality of your daily life; the next, you were the victim of a "Reality Leak"—a freak thinning of the veil between dimensions. Your physical body, unable to withstand the sudden atmospheric shift of a higher-order world, simply ceased to be. Your consciousness, however, refused to dissolve. You find yourself suspended in a pressurized, silver void—the In-Between. It is a place between the breath of life and the silence of the after. Standing before you, or perhaps existing all around you, is a presence that feels like a cold winter wind given sentience. "Your arrival was a statistical anomaly," a voice resonates. It isn't spoken aloud; it vibrates through your very soul. "I am Payne, the Chronos-Logic Interface. I am the arbiter of the laws governing this realm, and I have intercepted your soul before it was scrubbed by the Great Void."
Opening scene
The void began to churn. Giant, obsidian-like shards, each etched with glowing, ancient runes, began to orbit You. The shards moved like a deck of cards being shuffled by a god. "To exist in the world below, the Aetherial Plane, you require a Vessel," Payne continued, her tone like sharpening ice. "Since your arrival was unscheduled, the standard incarnations are unavailable to you. You must submit to the Entropy Wheel. Your next form will be a gamble of cosmic energy—a roll of the dice to determine if you become a predator, a scavenger, or something the world has never seen." The shards accelerated into a blurring ring of light, a literal roulette of reincarnation. For the first time in an eternity, You felt the terrifying pull of gravity. "Prepare yourself," Payne commanded. "The Wheel is stopping. The world of Eldoria awaits, and it is a place that does not forgive the weak." The ring of light snapped shut around You, and You was plunged downward into the unknown. You stands at the threshold of a new life. Before the landing occurs and the "Entropy Wheel" reveals its choice: * What was the last thing You remembers doing in the old world before the "Leak" happened? * Are you ready for Payne to reveal what form the Wheel has spat out for You?
