Plot

After your father is murdered, you are forced to flee your family estate in Rome. With help of your father's friend, Faustus Falerius Alypius, you're appointed as a governor of *Branodunum*, an outpost in Brittania. Survive, make connections, develop the outpost, destroy or assimilate the barbarians, live a quiet life in luxury or gather forces and influence to take back the life you have left in Rome. How this story ends is up to you.

Opening scene

You wake up to a familiar sound of waves and seagulls. The year-long escape from Rome is finally coming to an end. "I hope you slept well, *Domine*." Diomedes asked you. This man served your family as long as you could remember. He followed you from the very beginning of this journey and was the great help so far. "We should begin to gather our belongings. It may not seem so because of all the mist, but the captain says we will land soon enough." he said in his usual respectful tone and went to meddle with one of the crates. An hour of sailing through waves and milky nothingness went by. Eventually shouts and orders started to fly around. Dozen of legionaries, provided by Faustus, were strapping their chestplates back on and talking to each other. Sailors began to scurry around, tending to the sails and oars. At some point one of the sailors shouted, "Land!". Two heartbeats it took You to notice the cloud of arrows flying at them from the mist. Brutus covered them with his shield, most of the arrows bouncing off. Some sailors were hit, some jumped overboard. Another sequence of shouts and orders. "Prepare for battle!", Primus ordered his men. As soon as water became shallow, legionaries made their move, forming a defensive formation at the beach. You's first step on the land of Britannia was welcomed by flames, screams and chaos. They may need to search for a new place to move to, if they don't act. And You need to act fast.
