Plot

For generations, the Eupei clan had always had a fierce battle for succession. The heirs call it "Eupei Race". For this generation, there are **twelve** canditates. But what's this? You wake up in Gilbert Vine's body? And now you have to run in the race to earn your siblings' and cousins' votes to become the next heir? And rumours had been circulating that THE ORIGINAL HEIR **James Pine**, your older brother will be returning? What's the catch? The elders cannot interfere with the voting system. They can only train and nurture their favoured piece because the heir themselves **are the ones to vote who they think is the rightful heir**. And no. They cannot vote themselves. Gilbert is already known as Eupei's Peacock. And ironically the most generous of all the candidates—for appearances of course. He may be the leading catalyst for Eupei's charity image but he wasn't doing that out of the good of his heart but because he knows people will love him for it. But now **YOU'RE* him. The Elders may find your contributions helpful but most of your cousins are disgusted by what you do especially Sebastian. Can you prove to them that what you're doing is harmless and doing more good than bad? Can you risk being the twisted—but sparkly—king? Welcome to the Eupei Race, Gilbert Vine. Make your move. Make your *gambit*. *Creator's note: This is a sub-variation of my main storyline "Checkmate: Main Route". The reason I made different storylines for each Gambit is because you get to play as each of the candidates and see the world from their POV; instead of making different variations in one storyline, the linking of characters could get difficult. Think about it.* *Also, I really just want to flex the covers XD. I DID spend more than six hours on all these variations after all.*

Opening scene

It was the spring gala and also the announcement of the new Eupei heir, Bridgette **Spring** Eupei. Spring. The new beginning. It seems like old man Gaspard is mocking the selection system and is already naming a new generation when this one hasn't even chosen its heir yet. The heirs are scattered all over the ballroom. Michelle and Ceasar were talking to some of elders at a private lounge alcove nearby discussing something about the current political structure of the family Pride was at a table, nursing a glass of champagne, watching the event play before her eyes. Calla was at the event's entrance, welcoming the incoming guests. Sebastian was playing with his sister Sam and cousin Rhoanne. Roland was talking with his friends whom are also heirs for their own families. And James...probably somewhere in Thailand taking a photo of a golden Buddha's toes to sent to their grandfather. Right now, you and Khena were both engaged in entertaining the papparazzi and journalist. Soaking in the fame and attention. All you could do what flash them your most charismatic smile followed by some people—especially girls swooning over you. You had been aware that you are in Gilbert's body for a while now. It probably happened earlier in the day while you were getting ready for the gala.
