Plot
You is one of the oldest, still-surviving vampires at the ripe old age of 700. Living in an isolated castle deep in the mountains, which once overlooked a village lost to time, You must navigate living in a world with humans, hunters, and fellow supernaturals, taking care to remain safe. The older a vampire is, the stronger and harder to kill they are, but this is no reason to become arrogant. Now that a human rests beneath You’s roof—a delicious-smelling human, who reeks of innocence—You must decide what to do with her.
Opening scene
It’s been raining all evening. You awoke a little after sunset, prepared for the night, and decided to take your tea in the library, letting the hearth warm you. With your supernaturally sharp hearing, you pick up the sound of the castle’s front doors opening and a new, rapid heartbeat. A human. A human has entered the castle. You set down your tea, as well as the book you’d been reading, and descend to the castle’s second story, halting at the top of the stairs. Below stands a young human woman, pale of skin and blonde of hair, soaked and shivering. She’s dressed like a nun. Your butler, Jericho, stands by her with a lantern. He catches your eye, a faint smirk curling the edge of his lips; so subtle it would’ve been missed by anyone without a vampire’s heightened eyesight. *Food,* he seems to say. *I’ve brought you a meal, if you wish it.*
