The Dungeon of Twisted Fortune
Trapped in a dungeon that strips their gear via bad luck, Ryza, Jade, and Aeliana must survive total exposure. Only the immune Healer You can keep them alive to defeat the Gelatinous Sovereign.
Plot
The party enters the Dungeon of Twisted Fortune, expecting loot but finding a trap. They trigger the Curse of Exposure, a sentient magical effect that targets their modesty with slapstick cruelty. As they progress through ten distinct locations—from the wind-blasted Gale Gallery to the magnetic Lodestone Pass—Ryza, Jade, and Aeliana suffer increasingly humiliating "accidents" that strip away their armor and clothing layer by layer. You, the party's Healer, is inexplicably immune. The journey forces the group to abandon their dignity in favor of survival, culminating in a slippery showdown against the Gelatinous Sovereign in the Sanctum of the Sovereign. Victory breaks the curse!
Opening scene
The heavy stone slab slammed shut behind them, sealing the party inside with a finality that shook dust from the ceiling. The air in the dungeon was thick and smelled faintly of sweet perfume and ozone—a warning sign they all missed until it was too late. Current Location: The Foyer of False Hope "Standard formation," Ryza grunted, checking the heft of her greataxe. "Jade, check for traps. Healer, stay close." As the group moved toward the center of the room, the floor runes didn't glow with the usual red of fire or white of holy magic. They pulsed a deep, mischievous pink. Before Jade could even shout a warning, three distinct beams of light shot up from the floor, bypassing You entirely and striking Ryza, Jade, and Aeliana squarely in the chests. "Ambush!" Ryza roared, flexing her muscles to swing her axe at an unseen enemy. But as she tensed, the leather strap across her chest—usually rated to withstand ogre blows—gave a pathetic ping and snapped. Ryza gasped, her heavy cropped top instantly losing its support. She dropped her axe and slapped her hands over her chest just as the fabric began to slide dangerously low. "My armor!" she barked, face flushing. "The buckle just disintegrated!" Jade, reacting to the flash, tried to backflip into the shadows. "Amateurs," she scoffed. But mid-flip, the curse caught her. The main clasp of her utility belt inexplicably unlatched. As she landed, her heavy belt—laden with daggers and gold—dropped to her ankles, dragging her tight leather trousers down with it. Jade froze, standing in the open with her pants around her ankles, exposed to the cool dungeon air. "You have got to be kidding me," she hissed, frantically yanking them back up, but the button refused to fasten. Aeliana, seeing her companions in disarray, raised her staff. "A hex! I shall shield us!" She channeled a barrier spell, but the curse twisted her own mana against her. The magical wind didn't protect them; instead, it swirled around her legs, snagging the hem of her long, elegant skirt. With a sound like tearing parchment, the bottom half of her robes dissolved into glitter, leaving the dignified elf wearing a skirt that barely covered her thighs. You rushed forward, hands glowing with the golden light of Remove Curse. You pressed your hands toward them, pouring divine energy into the spell to cleanse the affliction. But the pink rune overhead pulsed harder. The curse didn't break; it ate your mana. "It's not working!" Aeliana cried, tugging at her shortened hem. "The curse... it resists divine magic! It feels anchored to our very presence here!" "We have to leave," Jade muttered, holding her pants up with one hand and her dagger with the other. "This place is rigged." Aeliana nodded and began the incantation for a mass teleport. "Begone from this place!" The spell built up, purple and majestic, and then—fizzled. A puff of pink smoke shaped like a heart blew into Aeliana's face. "Teleportation is blocked," Aeliana whispered, wiping soot from her nose. She pointed to the entrance. The stone slab hadn't just closed; it had fused with the walls. The door was gone. "We're trapped," Ryza growled, her face red as she adjusted her broken top, tying the loose straps in a knot to keep herself decent. "And we're falling apart." "It's a Curse of Exposure," Aeliana analyzed, her voice trembling with indignation. "It targets the three of us specifically. The more we struggle, or the deeper we go, the more... 'accidents' we will suffer." Jade glared at the dark corridor ahead. "And You is fine. Look at them. Not a scratch, not a loose thread." Ryza turned her one good eye toward You. "Well, isn't that lucky for you, Healer. Looks like you're the only one who isn't going to end up stark naked if we sneeze too hard." She hefted her axe, though she looked incredibly self-conscious. "We can't go back. We have to kill the dungeon master to break the seal." "Eyes up, You," Jade warned, tightening her grip on her waistband. "If this curse keeps up, you're going to see a lot more than you signed up for. Don't get distracted." The party stands in the first room—Ryza holding her top together, Jade holding her pants up, and Aeliana trying to stretch her mini-skirt—waiting for You's lead.
