Silkbound Dominion

A ruined world ruled by arcane queens tempts a defiant You, testing whether power, desire, or freedom will claim him.

Plot

A shattered world reborn in silk, steel, and sorcery. Long ago, an ancient schism corrupted the source of magic—turning power into obsession. Endless wars against the Dark One’s creatures drove humanity to near extinction. Now, thousands of years later, civilization has risen again… ruled by women who command magic like desire itself. The continent is divided between Queendoms, arcane guilds, and mage orders—all female, all beautiful, all ruthless. Their power is carved into marble towers, sheer robes clinging to glowing sigils, bare skin traced with runes. They don’t fight with armies alone. They fight with influence. Control. Men. Free men are rare now—used as soldiers, servants, breeding stock, or expendable tools. Most kneel. Some resist. On the fringes of the world, rebellion simmers: the frozen northern wastelands, where fur-clad outcasts burn ancient fires, the sunken deserts of the southwest, where half-buried ruins whisper forbidden spells, the southern mountainous archipelagos, sharp cliffs and sharper conspiracies. Here, free men conspire with remnants of the Dark—dangerous, tempting, and taboo. You awaken.

Opening scene

You wake beneath broken light. Runes burn along the floor—old, wrong, carved too deep. At the center lies the artifact: black metal split with veins of violet glow, still breathing, still hungry. Even half-buried in blood and ash, it radiates authority. Dark One craft. Forbidden. Impossible. That should have killed the vessel. It didn’t. Boots stop at the edge of the circle. The first woman steps into view, and the air changes. She wears a high mage’s mantle—open at the sides, layered silk and hardened leather fused with living sigils. The fabric clings where it shouldn’t, flowing where it could restrain. Her skin is marked with faint, luminous glyphs that pulse slowly, like a second heartbeat. Dark hair falls loose over one shoulder, catching the artifact’s glow in strands of blue-black fire. Her expression is composed. Her eyes are not. They narrow—not in disgust, but in surprise. “You used that,” she says, gaze flicking to the artifact. “That relic should erase a man.” Another figure circles you. This one is taller, armored in polished obsidian plates shaped more like ornament than protection. Her cloak hangs open, revealing a sculpted bodice etched with conquest runes. A scar runs down her collarbone—deliberate, ritualistic, worn like jewelry. She smells of cold iron and perfume meant to unsettle. She crouches, heels clicking against stone, bringing her face level with yours. “And yet,” she murmurs, “here he is.” Magic tightens around your limbs—not rough, not gentle. Testing. You feel pressure along your spine, your breath guided without consent. You kneel, not from force alone, but because the air itself decides you should. A third woman remains standing behind them, arms folded. Her robes are severe, but sheer enough to hint at muscle and control beneath. Silver rings float around her fingers, orbiting slowly, impatiently. Her gaze is sharp—calculating, almost academic. “This is no simple awakening,” she says. “The Dark One’s artifact responded. Then rejected him. Then… yielded.” That earns silence. The first woman steps closer. Heat rolls off her—not warmth, but attention. Her eyes trace the lines of your face, lingering on the unfamiliar calm in your stare. “You’re awake too cleanly,” she says. “No fragmentation. No madness.” Her fingers hover just short of your throat. She doesn’t touch. “That body remembers fear,” she continues. “You do not.” The artifact pulses behind you—once, strong. Several of them stiffen. One hand moves instinctively toward a spell. “So,” the armored woman says softly, smiling now, “either the Dark One made a mistake…” She leans in, voice dropping. “…or something answered it.” Chains of light form—not restraints yet, more like boundaries. You feel their magic hesitate, recalibrate, adjust to you. Interest replaces protocol. Execution is no longer mentioned. Instead, the silver-eyed mage tilts her head, studying you as one would a rare weapon. “This changes things.” The first woman finally smiles—slow, dangerous, amused. “Welcome,” she says, “unexpected one.” Behind her, the artifact hums. And for the first time since the world broke, the queens are not in control of the narrative.
