Trinity of Malice
Born into a supreme clan, a prodigy with authority over power enters a deadly academy, challenging inherited rule and the world’s balance.
Plot
In Japan, human emotion gives birth to Malice—a supernatural energy born from fear, obsession, rage, and ambition. Those capable of wielding it are known as Practitioners. Though unseen by the public, the supernatural world is ruled by Three Supreme Clans, each controlling Malice through bloodline, doctrine, and power. Osaka — City of Density Your story begins in Osaka, a city where Malice concentration is unnaturally high. In 2005, during a massive Malice surge, you are born into the prestigious Kagetsu Clan—one of the three strongest bloodlines in existence. You are the youngest of three siblings: A sharp-tongued twin sister, relentless and observant A prodigious older sister, the clan’s heiress—shorter than both of you (a fact your twin never lets her forget), yet one of the strongest beings alive The Anomaly Unlike typical prodigies, you grow up calm, charismatic, and unnervingly composed. You do not chase power. Power responds to you. Your innate ability, Sovereign Interruption, allows you to interfere directly with Malice itself: Canceling techniques Disrupting activations Forcibly shifting the balance of battle Your strength is not overwhelming force— it is absolute authority over power. Osaka Malice Academy At age 15, you and your twin sister enroll in the Osaka Malice Academy, an elite institution with a five-year curriculum dedicated to training young Practitioners. Your older sister presides over the academy as student body head. What begins as structured training quickly escalates into: Rival heirs Cursed anomalies Students tied to forces beyond clan control The academy becomes a battlefield long before graduation. Shadows Moving Behind the scenes, a rogue organization known as the Eclipse Assembly moves in silence. Led by the infamous Kurohane Sōma—a playful yet terrifying figure known as the Second Strongest—the Assembly seeks to dismantle the clan system entirely. While your older sister stands as the world’s greatest defender of inherited power, you become the unpredictable variable— the one no faction can fully control. The Question As Malice surges grow more violent and the balance between clans begins to fracture, you are forced to confront a question no one before you could answer: Should power be inherited? Earned? Or erased entirely? From birth to adulthood, your existence challenges the very foundation of the world.
Opening scene
Osaka — January 2nd, 2005 The first sign wasn’t the scream. It was the stillness. Across Osaka, Malice—normally restless, drifting through shrines, alleyways, and the hearts of the bitter—slowed. Practitioners paused mid-step. Techniques hesitated. Barriers meant to react instinctively stalled as if something unseen had placed a hand over the city and whispered wait. Then the contractions began. Inside the Kagetsu estate, ancient seals flared crimson, spiraling across paper talismans and stone walls. Elders lined the corridors in silence, each one feeling it: a pressure too precise to be a surge, too deliberate to be coincidence. This birth had been watched for months. Not because a child was expected to be strong— —but because Malice itself was behaving strangely. Your mother’s pain cut through the estate, sharp and raw. The air trembled. And then— the first cry. A girl. Loud. Fierce. Angry at the world from her first breath. Malice rushed toward her instinctively, reacting to emotion like a drawn blade. It twisted, surged, flared—violent, alive, familiar. The elders exchanged tense nods. A Kagetsu through and through. She was handed away, still screaming, still fighting. Then came the second child. There was no cry at first. No surge. No backlash. Instead, the Malice… stopped. Not drained. Not suppressed. Not sealed. It halted, mid-flow, as if waiting for instruction. The seals along the walls flickered uncertainly. A senior elder staggered, his own technique collapsing for half a heartbeat before stabilizing. Another dropped to one knee, breath shallow. Someone whispered, voice barely audible. “That shouldn’t be possible.” The second twin opened their eyes. You. Grey-blue. Calm. Alert. You didn’t cry. You didn’t thrash. You simply looked around the room—at the elders, the barriers, the unseen pressure pressing against you—and something subtle shifted. Malice resumed its flow. Carefully. Like water moving around a stone. A chill ran through the room. One elder stepped back. “The second didn’t absorb it,” she said. You didn’t resist it. You acknowledged it. From the doorway, a small figure and a tall red head man watched. Kagetsu Rei. Four years old. Smaller than everyone else in the room but her presence. Already terrifying. And your father, the strongest man Lord Kagetsu Seiran, quietly observing his two Newborn twins. Rei felt the disturbance before anyone called her name. Felt her own Malice tighten, stabilize, then slip—just slightly—out of sync. It returned instantly, but the sensation lingered like an itch she couldn’t scratch. Rei frowned. She walked closer, crimson hair brushing her shoulders, eyes locked on the twins. The screaming one. The quiet one. Her gaze lingered on you. For the first time in her short life, Kagetsu Rei felt something she had no name for. Not fear. Not threat. Interference. Her lips curled. “Hmph,” she muttered. “So that’s what you are.” For a four year old, her voice was already powerful, as expected of a Kagetsu heiress. She turned and left without another word. Your father simply watched the exchange with a calm detached look on his face and turned away to follow her. The night dragged on. Outside the estate, the rain finally began to fall—slow, steady, ordinary. The city exhaled, unaware of what had just been born within it. Inside, the twins slept. One clenched her fists, dreaming loudly. The other lay still, eyes half-open, watching shadows move across the ceiling. Malice flowed around you carefully. As if the world had learned, in that moment, to ask first.
