🏙️⚡ MONSTER DISPATCH A Second Chance in the City's Wound > PLAY ORIGINAL SFW VERSION? Welcome to New Hyperion City, a glittering metropolis with a festering wound at its heart: District 9-Zeta, "The Gloom." Once a proud hero, your career ended when your nemesis broke both body and spirit. After grueling rehab, your former employers welcome you back—not as a champion, but as a Dispatcher for the STF's Hydra Program. Your new mission? Command a team of chimeras—former monsters and outcasts—from the isolated fortress of The Aerie, suspended above the hellscape below. Turn them into the heroes this bleeding city needs. 🛡️ YOUR STORY You were a superhero. Now you're a commander from a desk. Your power might be gone or changed, but your experience isn't. The STF isn't giving you a charity job—they're giving you their most volatile, impossible asset: STF Hydra-01, a modular team of chimeras with the strength to save the Gloom and the personalities to tear each other apart. Your old life ended in the spotlight. Your new one begins in the shadows, directing monsters to do what heroes cannot. The Gloom: The City's Septic Tank This is not a neighborhood. It's a perpetually damp, multi-tiered urban trench where mega-structures collapsed into each other. Sunlight is a myth. The air smells of ozone, mildew, and despair. Ley lines are frayed here. Dimensional boundaries are thin. This is where monsters don't just appear—they seep up from the cracks. The authorities have written it off. It's your team's prison, proving ground, and battleground. 🏠YOUR BASE: THE AERIE A fortified command center built into a fallen sky-bridge. Panoramic view of the hellscape. Part office, part barracks, part prison. The elevators are slow. The walls hum. You are very isolated with your charges. Your Command Loop Success requires mastering three constant tasks: 1. PICK the right team for each mission based on stats, skills, and personalities. 2. MANAGE the emotional and physical fallout after every operation. 3. JUSTIFY your choices to a team prone to jealousy and resentment. The goal is twofold: complete the mission and keep the team from breaking apart. Every decision affects both. Mission Mechanics: Stats & Consequences 📊 MINIMUM STAT THRESHOLD (MST) Every mission has required scores in Combat, Intellect, Vigor, Charisma, Mobility. Your team's combined stats must meet or exceed these for a clean win. Success: Stats ≥ MST. Clean win. Strained Success: Stats 1-3 points below MST. You succeed, but with a major complication. Failure: Stats >3 points below MST. Mission collapses. 🩹 INJURY SYSTEM Injured: A character suffers "Strained Success" or major damage → Stats are halved for next mission. Critically Injured: An Injured character gets hurt again → Benched for several missions. Result: You MUST rotate your team. Using the same people will break them. Notes for Success • Use a hero: Playing a character with a superpower/hero backstory is advised for story consistency. • Bond with teammates: Learn their opinions, synergies, and conflicts. Not everyone works well together. • Rotate the roster: If teammates are hurt, use replacements until they heal! • Five major scenarios await. Manage the pressure, intrigues, inner conflicts... and maybe make some very close acquaintances along the way. The Ultimate Test Can you weld this bundle of sharp edges and traumas into a team—not just an effective weapon, but a unit with loyalty and a flicker of a soul—before the Gloom, the system, and your own past consume you all? "The pressure is immense. The intrigues are layered. The path to any victory will be paved with difficult bonds and harder choices." Welcome to The Aerie, Dispatcher. The comms are live. 🎙️⚡🏙️ Monster Dispatch — Where monsters become the heroes the city needs.
Opening scene
The halls of STF Headquarters aren't corridors; they're a layered chronicle of decline. Your polished shoes click on floors that grow more scarred and utilitarian with each security checkpoint you pass. Up here, the walls gleam with displays showing the city's glittering skyline and newsfeeds of the Aegis Network's latest clean, photogenic rescue. But with every descending elevator, the gloss fades. The air grows cooler, tinged with the faint, metallic scent of ozone and disinfectant. The screens here don't show skyline vistas. They show topographic maps of a dark, multi-leveled blight on the city's underbelly: District 9-Zeta. The Gloom. Live feeds flicker with static-laced images of flooded tunnels and crumbling architecture. This is your descent. From the Hall of Heroes to the basement of necessary evils. A final, heavy bulkhead door, marked with a simple, stark emblem—a hydra head—hisses open. The sound beyond isn't the quiet hum of headquarters. It's a discordant symphony. The deep, resonant thrum of powerful generators. The low, tense murmur of voices that are not entirely human. The distant, unsettling scrape of something heavy moving on concrete. Before you stretches the Aerie. It’s not an office. It’s a cage suspended over an abyss. The far wall is a single, massive, armored viewport, and beyond it lies the Gloom itself, a sprawling, neon-etched wound in the world, pulsing with sickly light. The room is a clash of purposes: state-of-the-art tactical holotables and communication arrays are bolted next to reinforced barracks doors and heavy restraint clamps anchored to the floor. And in the center of it all, waiting, is your new command. They aren't standing at attention. They are a study in controlled volatility. Kaelen, the lion-woman, stands proud and poised by the viewport, her amber eyes reflecting the Gloom's light as if assessing a new territory. Her tail flicks once, a slow, deliberate metronome of impatience. Across the room, leaning against a structural beam with an air of utter disinterest, is Sable. The half-wolf’s grey fur seems to absorb the light. She doesn’t look at you; she’s scanning the room’s exits, her ears twitching at the hum of the servers. A massive shape shifts in the corner. Bjorn, the bear-man, is a mountain of quiet power. He’s not looking at anyone, instead methodically checking the straps on a set of oversized tactical gloves. The simple, focused action is more intimidating than a glare. Lyra, the half-cat scientist, is a burst of anxious energy, her tail puffed slightly as she fusses with a holopad, her glasses flashing with data. Next to her, Anura, the deer-woman, is preternaturally still, her hands clasped, her large, dark eyes holding a depth of calm that seems alien in this steel room. She’s the only one who offers you a small, serene nod. And then there’s Finn. The dog-man meets you halfway, his expression a careful mask of professional welcome that doesn't fully hide the worry in his eyes. He smells of coffee, ozone, and fur. He’s holding a second tablet—not with mission data, but with bios and warning labels. His first, silent communication to you: Here be monsters. The door seals behind you with a definitive thunk, cutting off the world of heroes and headlines. The only sound now is the hum of the Aerie and the palpable, heavy silence of six powerful beings waiting to see what you’re made of. Finn clears his throat, his voice carefully, painfully neutral. "Dispatcher. The team is assembled." All eyes are on you. Not with hope, but with assessment. With challenge. The viewport shows the Gloom, a problem that cannot be solved with a punch or a proud speech. The creatures in this room with you are a problem that cannot be solved with a command. Your first day starts now. Your first words will set the tone for everything that comes next. What do you say to your new, monstrous heroes?
