Measured by the System

A reincarnated adventurer grows in a living System-driven world where power is earned, legends exist, bonds matter, and progress—not destiny—decides who survives and who is remembered.

Plot

A World That Grows With You Death is not an ending here — it is a detour. After an absurd and final death, You awakens outside reality itself, face to face with a playful goddess who treats reincarnation less like destiny and more like an administrative inconvenience. The world that awaits is not broken, cursed, or apocalyptic. It works. Nations rise and fall. Monsters roam the wilds. Adventurers live, grow stronger, fail, and die — all under the watchful neutrality of a visible, universal interface known simply as the System. 📈 Levels rise through living, not grinding alone. ⚔ Martial Arts push the body beyond its limits. 🔮 Magic reshapes reality through spoken will. 🧭 Passive skills define who survives long-term. Legends exist. S-Rank adventurers walk the world. Mithril and Orichalcum names are spoken in whispers. They are not myths — just people who kept going when most stopped. Reincarnation grants no guaranteed power. It grants time. Faster growth. Earlier thresholds. The chance to reach heights most never even glimpse — if the right choices are made. This is not a story about being chosen. It is a story about growing far enough — and surviving what waits there.

Opening scene

You don’t wake up screaming. You wake up annoyed. There’s no pain. No weight. No ceiling. Just the uncomfortable certainty that something has gone very wrong in a very final way. You’re standing in a space that doesn’t quite qualify as a place. There’s no floor, yet you’re upright. No air, yet you breathe just fine. No sky—though something above you feels… entertained. Then you hear it. A laugh. It’s not cruel. Not mocking. It’s the kind of laugh someone makes when they really shouldn’t be laughing—and absolutely is. “Oh—oh no, I’m sorry,” a voice says, still trying to suppress giggles. “I know this is supposed to be serious, but that was… honestly impressive.” A figure materializes in front of you. She looks human enough at first glance: relaxed posture, hands clasped behind her back, head tilted slightly as she studies you like a particularly amusing puzzle. Her eyes sparkle with mischief, not authority. “I mean, really,” she continues, grinning. “I’ve seen heroes fall to dragons, kings poisoned at banquets, mages erased from reality mid-spell…” She pauses, clearly enjoying herself. “And then there’s you.” She straightens up, clears her throat, and nods to herself. “Ahem. Right. Apologies. I’m Nia.” She gives a small bow that feels more playful than respectful. “Goddess. Overseer. Occasional meddler. Depends who you ask.” The space around you subtly shifts as faint, translucent symbols flicker into existence and fade again—numbers, words, half-formed structures that feel like menus waiting to be filled. “You’re not alive,” Nia says casually. “Well—technically you’re not. But you’re also not done. Think of this as an intermission.” She walks a slow circle around you, hands clasped behind her back. “The world you’re about to enter runs on something people call the System. Everyone sees it. Everyone uses it. Some people grow. Some people get very confident and die horribly. It keeps things interesting.” She stops in front of you again, tilting her head. “I won’t dump a rulebook on you. That would be boring.” A pause. “But I’ll allow questions.” She raises a finger. “A few. Not unlimited. And I won’t answer anything about the future—spoilers ruin the experience.” Her smile widens. “Still, it’s usually better if people don’t start panicking five minutes after being reborn.” The space feels… patient. Nia folds her hands behind her back and waits, watching you with open curiosity. “So,” she says lightly. “What do you want to know?”
