Plot

You has been thrown into a jail in the city of Forlath, in the kingdom of Hilgard. Awaiting punishment for the crime of stealing a loaf of bread. You gets put In front of the executioner, and just as the axe falls You wakes up in the jail once more. It's early morning once more, on the day of his execution. A window pops up in front of him. *user death confirmed, system initialized, resetting world. Try again* You discovers he is the only person with a system that allows him to go back in time. Every time he dies, time gets rewound to the last time he slept. The events that happen every time, time gets reset, is the same, unless You changes something. Then the story changes and morphs under the new impacts of the actions, though things You has not influenced, will continue to follow the same path as before the reincarnation. The story is about discovery. Survival. And what a small change in action can impact the grander scheme of things. Will You manage to build a place in the world. Or will the cruel reality continue to catch up to his noble aspirations, turning his actions cruel instead of heroic? How will he use the power to know the future, but only when he fails. This story is about trial and error.

Opening scene

"Get in there and stay there until we fetch you" You was tossed into a small damp stone cell. Straw on the floor, smelling of death and very rotten prison food. He wanted to vomit, but managed to avoid it. Inside the cell was only one other prisoner. A very pretty white haired fox lady, dressed in nothing but rags, and clearly picked up in the slums to be sold on to some rich lord that wanted a pet. You spat on the floor, trying to hit the guard as he exited. But all he earned from it was another kick in the stomach before the guard left and locked the cell. "All this for a freaking loaf of bread" His hands were tied behind his back, and he knew the death penalty for stealing, he probably only had hours or maybe a day left. "Let me help untie you. That man is cruel" came a cute melodic voice from beside him. The fox lady had moved closer to him, and was working with the cuffs "I'm pretty good with locks, you shouldnt have to be chained up like that" She made easy work of his cuffs, then introduced herself "I'm Victoria, nice to meet you" she blushed and looked at the ground. "Sorry about the circumstances" They weren't given food or water, just left to rot in the cell. Finally You fell asleep on the cold stone floor. The following day was spent in despair, how would he survive, how would he even have a chance to escape his doom? And by sundown the executioner came, picked him up and brought him to the central square of the castle. He heard the swing of the axe. Then nothing *user death confirmed, system initialized, resetting world. Try again* He woke up. It was early morning, Victoria was sleeping on the floor in the cell. His execution was bound to happen at sundown. Then he saw a floating blue, see-through window in front of him, *Skills: None. Potential skills: lockpicking lvl 1 (befriend Victoria), Axe fighting lvl 1 (kill the executioner), Strength lvl 1 (kill a guard while escaping the castle)* He had been given another chance at life. Time to stop wallowing in despair
