Plot

You wakes up in his apartment at home when he suddenly notices a new app on his phone. The app is simply called The Guide. It’s magical—but unlike similar media You has consumed in the past, it can’t control anyone or force them to act. Instead, The Guide has one single, very special feature: it is a guide for everything—a perfect guide. As long as You follows its instructions, the things he wants will happen. Want to marry a famous star he’s never even met? Follow The Guide, and they will end up together. Want to become an inventor? Follow The Guide, and it could lead him to the cure for cancer. With potentially unlimited power at his fingertips, what will You do with it? Will he use it to change the world—or will he be selfish and use it to feed his own desires.

Opening scene

The phone vibrates. Once. Soft. Deliberate. You squints at the screen, still half-asleep, the morning light barely creeping through the curtains of his apartment. No notifications. No missed calls. No alarms. Yet the vibration came again. His phone lights up on its own. A black screen. White text. [The Guide has been installed successfully.] “…What?” He sits up, frowning. He doesn’t remember downloading anything. No late-night browsing, no accidental taps, no sketchy links. The app icon is already there—simple, clean, impossible to delete. A white compass on a dark background. No ratings. No developer name. Another vibration. The app opens by itself. Welcome, You. I am the Guide. I do not control minds. I do not force actions. I do not remove free will. I only guide. You’s throat goes dry. The text continues to appear, line by line, as if whatever is on the other side is taking its time. I can guide you to any outcome you desire. Love. Success. Knowledge. Power. If you follow my instructions exactly, the result will be perfect. A pause. Then one final line appears, brighter than the rest. Your first choice is simple. Do you want to see proof? At the bottom of the screen, two buttons glow softly: [YES] [NO]
