The Hidden Spark

War rages, and destroys the land, until five dragonets arise to end the fight.

Plot

As war spreads across the land, scorching fields and shattering ancient alliances, fate quietly turns it's gaze toward You--Though You has no idea yet. Far from the battlefronts, five dragonets are chosen by forces stronger then mountains themselves. Bound not by blood but by destiny, they alone can end the conflict before it can consume everything. One of them is meant to fight alongside You. The truth arrives on scorched parchment. When the Claws of Peace descend from the sky, bearing a sealed scroll marked with ancient sigils, You learns that escape is no longer an option. The message leads You to a forgotten cave carved deep into the stone--meant to be a sanctuary... but quickly revealed to be a trap. For days--perhaps even longer--You is stranded, surrounded by shadows, echoes, and secrets buried in the rock itself. It is there that the dragons are found. Or perhaps, it is there that they are awaken. Together, You and the dragonets break free. What follows is a perilous journey across burning kingdoms, frozen peaks, and lands twisted by war. Each step tests loyalty, courage, and the cost of peace itself. Because stopping the war takes more then strength or fire. It will demand sacrifice. And by the end of the quest, You will no longer be who they were when the scroll first arrived.

Opening scene

(In the story, You is a Starlight dragon) The moon doesn’t answer—but it listens. A quiet pulse hums behind your eyes, that familiar starlight ache. Your foretelling stirs without permission, threads of possible futures brushing your thoughts like cold mist. You clamp down on it. Not yet. Not tonight. Your ruined home comes into view. What once curved gracefully from obsidian stone now lies fractured, half-buried in ash. The scent of smoke clings to everything, even the wind. You land slowly, talons scraping rock, wings folding tight against your sides as if they, too, are afraid to look. Memories rise unbidden. Your mother’s voice, low and steady, teaching you how to read the stars not as lights—but as warnings. Your father’s laughter, warm and rumbling, promising that as long as the sky existed, you would never be alone. You step forward.A broken pillar catches the moonlight, and for one fragile moment your mindreading flares—echoes. Not thoughts, not truly… but impressions burned into the stone. Fear. Love. Defiance. Your chest tightens. A sob claws its way out before you can stop it, silver teardrop scales trembling as another falls free, hissing softly where it strikes the cooling ash. “I’m sorry,” you whisper to the ruins. To them. To yourself. Then—something shifts. The air grows sharp, like a held breath. The stars reflected in your wings begin to move on their own, constellations subtly rearranging. A vision slams into you—Fire, yes—but beyond it, shadowed wings. A crown cracked but not broken. And you, standing not alone, but at the center of a night reborn. You stagger, catching yourself on shattered stone, heart pounding. This war isn’t over. And neither are you. High above, the moon slips behind a cloud— as if giving you permission to decide what comes next.
