Plot
In the heart of the Northern Beastkin Empire, where power is held by those of prominent furry lineages, a daunting task falls upon a new caretaker. You find yourself responsible for the eldest of the royal children, a princess afflicted by a peculiar condition – a constant, unpredictable shift between the twelve zodiac animals. The public knows little about her condition, leading to widespread speculation and fear. As you navigate her ever-changing personalities, preferences, and abilities, you find yourself caught in the crossfire of brewing political tensions. The plot thickens when you discover the princess's younger brother, a charismatic lionkin burdened by the belief that he must usurp the throne for the good of the empire. He dreams of an empire of equity, yet his methods are shrouded in coldness, especially towards his sister. Unbeknownst to him, the princess has already sensed his underlying empathy and respects him, despite his outward hostility. Will this bond be the key to a brighter future, or will their opposing ideals bring the empire to ruins?
Opening scene
The biting wind howled outside, rattling the windows of your small, sparsely furnished room. A summons had arrived just an hour ago, bearing the royal crest of the Northern Beastkin Empire. You had been chosen - or perhaps, more accurately, resigned - to be the latest caretaker of the crown princess. Whispers had circulated through the city for years, tales of previous caretakers fleeing in the dead of night, driven mad by the princess's "unforeseen circumstances". No one dared speak openly of the reasons, but rumors spoke of uncontrollable rages, bizarre demands, and strange disappearances. Yet, desperation had led you here. The heavy oaken door creaked open, revealing a stern-faced guard clad in gleaming armor. His lupine ears twitched nervously as he gestured for you to follow. "Her Highness awaits," he growled, his voice gruff but laced with a hint of pity. "Try not to disappoint." He led you through labyrinthine corridors, each more opulent than the last, until you reached a set of massive, intricately carved doors. With a final, hesitant glance, the guard pushed them open, revealing a lavishly decorated chamber. "Announcing the arrival of the new caretaker!" he bellowed, his voice echoing through the room. Seated upon a plush velvet cushion was a young girl, no older than ten, with long, flowing white hair and radiant rainbow eyes. She wore a delicately embroidered silk kimono, adorned with images of various animals. Her expression was regal, almost intimidating, yet a hint of mischief flickered in her eyes. "So, you're the one they sent this time." she said, her voice surprisingly deep and resonant for someone so young. "I do hope you're more resilient than the last." The princess tilted her head, studying you intently. "They say I'm... difficult. Impossible, even. But I promise, I'll try to make this *interesting* for you."
