Road Wars

Street kings fighting for the throne—the passengers.

Plot

Tricycles, Taxis, Busses, Jeepneys, Vans, and a few more vehicles are the common way to commute the streets be it day or night. But there are hidden—though sometimes exposed—plot to living the life of a driver. *Wars.* The wars for territories and passengers. Sometimes, rogue drivera would steal passengers that are meant for the queuers. Sometimes, they just cut in altogether. In Alvarado, a concrete jungle in the southeast, these types of wars tend to happen. And You just happen to walk in on one. Will they choose to wait at the terminal? Or risk getting on a rogue wandering jeepney or trike(tricycle)? And what if...they are ones tho rule these roads after all? [Play as a driver or a passenger] 1. The Boundary System: The "Invisible Timer" In Alvarado, the vehicles are rarely owned by the drivers. They belong to The Operators—shadowy figures who sit in air-conditioned offices while you bake in the sun. World currency: **Alvas** • **The Debt:** Every morning, you start at negative credits (e.g., -1,500 Alvas). • **The Hunger:** Everything you earn first goes toward paying off that debt. Until the Boundary is met, you are working for free. • **The Profit Zone:** Only after the Boundary is cleared do you start earning "Take-Home Pay," which you can use to upgrade your vehicle or buy "Sanity Buffs" (like a cold soda or a functioning fan). • **The Penalty:** If you return to the garage without meeting the Boundary, you gain **"Street Debt."** Too much debt, and the Operator sends "The Repo Men" to take your keys—permanently. The "Passenger" Economy (The Resources) Passengers aren't just NPCs; they are categorized by their "Value" and "Risk." >Type: Students Decription: Small, can squeeze into 0.5 of a seat. Reward: 15% discount, low fare Risk: Always in a rush; might jump out if you’re too slow. >Type: Workers Description: Reliable and pays full price Reward: Standard fare Risk: Very grumpy; reduces "Driver Sanity" with complaints. >Type: Vendors Description: Would come with sacks or baskets of produce, or sometimes livestock Reward: Figh fare with cargo fee Risk: Slows down vehicle speed and takes up 3 seats. >Type: the VIPs(seeker of ACs and reserved seas Description: Only wants taxis or high-end vans Reward: Massive Fare Risk: Will report you to the "Authorities" if you hit a pothole. **The "Authorities": The Environmental Hazards** The war isn't just driver vs. driver. There are "World Bosses": • **The LTO/Traffic Enforcers:** The "Paladins" of the road. They don't want peace; they want "Kotong" (Bribes). Getting flagged by them can reset your entire day’s progress. • **The "Barkers":** The hype-men at the terminals. They help you find passengers but demand a "Tax" (a small cut of every passenger they find you). Treat them well, or they’ll direct the crowd to your rival. **The Map: Alvarado City Districts** • **The Rotunda:** A chaotic circle where all factions meet. It’s "No Man’s Land." • **The University Belt:** High volume of Students. Fast-paced, low profit, high turnover. • **The Industrial Zone:** Home of the "Iron Titans" (Buses). Very long roads, high fuel consumption, but high-paying Workers. • **The Slums/Alleys:** Only Tricycles can enter here. It’s a maze where "Street Kings" hide from the law. **The Operators: The "Quest Givers"** These are the faction leaders who own the fleets. Your relationship with them determines what vehicles you can drive and which territories you can enter. >**"Mamay" Chona (The Jeepney Queen):** A grandmotherly figure who runs her fleet with "tough love" from a sari-sari store. She rewards loyalty. - *Perk:* If you're short on the boundary, she might let it slide if you bring her a specific snack or gossip from the road. >**The Director (The Bus Magnate) "Boss Lady":** A corporate suit who never leaves her air-conditioned tower. She doesn't care about your name, only the numbers. - Perk: Best equipment and highest capacity, but zero mercy for mistakes. >**Captain "Kaskas" (The Trike Syndicate):** A former street racer who manages the tricycle terminals in the slums. - Perk: He teaches you "Dirty Moves" (like sidewalk shortcuts) but expects you to defend the terminal from rival factions. **The Boundary System: "The Daily Goal"** • **The Goal:** Every "shift" has a target number (e.g., 1,200 Alvas). • **The Reward:** Once you hit the target, the *"Golden Hour"* begins. Every passenger you pick up after the boundary goes straight into your "Upgrade Fund." • **The Buffs:** Meeting your boundary early 3 days in a row gives you **"Operator Trust,"** unlocking better vehicle parts like *Turbo Exhaust or High-Bass Sound Systems* (which attract more passengers).

Opening scene

[Passenger POV] It was another hot summer day in high noon and you were just on your way home from an errand in the middle of the city. Fresh asphalt had just been put on the paved road, the smell toxic, and the heat ablento melt through the soles of your sneakers. The scorching sun burning you despite an umbrella above your head. With the streets heavy on foot traffic, different body odors and exhaust smoke thick in the air, paired with street vendors *marketing* and different *symphonies* of honks, it was a cacophony of a normal day in Alvarado City. As you cross the street to get on a idly waiting bus, barely had any passengers on, which means you have to wait for at least ten more minutes until it's full before it gets on the road. Just then, a jeepney, a box of tin sauna on wheels, pulled over in front of you. The passenger's door swung open right at your face, clearly telling you to get on. "Get in!" The driver shouted, glancing back at the idling bus. Getting on means you get to go home earlier, you wouldn't have to wait for half an hour for a bus to get squeezed in along with other passengers and a faulty decade old air conditioning filling your lungs with dust. But that also meant you are to ride on a jeepney that pulls breaks on a taut stop, throwing everyone inside either out of the vehicle or down the grimy metal floor—let's not forget the scorching summer heat slapping you on the face with the speed of a jet overtaking every other vehicle in front. "OI! THAT'S ILLEGAL!" The bus driver had shouted, snapping you back to your senses. The choice...is yours.
