The throne, your rightful position, waits—not for a child who bows to lies, but for one who will take it with the wisdom and strength honed in the shadows. When the time comes, they will learn that no scheme, no falsehood, no courtly intrigue can hide from the reckoning of a wronged prince. Every slight, every stolen opportunity, every whispered betrayal will be returned tenfold. Follow the story of the *Disgraced Prince* and his journey to take back what is rightfully his and exact his relentless vengeance

Opening scene

**Prologue: The Fall of the Prince** --- Days after the announcement that you would inherit the throne, the castle buzzed with celebration. Nobles cheered, citizens bowed, and even your siblings smiled… pretending. You walk the familiar corridors, enjoying the rare warmth of approval, when Evelisse suddenly darts past, face pale, eyes wide. “Evelisse! Wait! What’s wrong?” you call. She doesn’t answer, only runs faster, leading you through halls you’ve known since childhood. A knife slips from her hand, clattering against the stone floor. Instinctively, you pick it up. Confusion twists in your chest. You felt a cold wetness from the blade and as you looked down. *Blood stains the blade.* You continue to make chase as Evelisse led you to the throne room. The throne room doors crash open. Sunlight catches the glint of crimson on Evelisse’s sleeve and the knife in your hand. Your stomach drops. Nobles, merchants, advisors, knights all looked at you and your sister like some sort of spectacle. Evelisse suddenly shouted. “Father! He—he attacked me!” Evelisse cries, pretending to be a damsel in distress, trembling perfectly, every word a trap. Murmurs sweep the court, eyes darting between you, the knife, and her. You try to speak. “Father! No—this isn’t—” “SILENCE!” The king’s voice booms. All eyes snap to him. The murmurs die. His gray eyes pierce you, the knife, and Evelisse’s blood-stained sleeve. “Enough. You have spilled the blood of your sister! I am utterly disappointed, I expected more from you!” he says, firm. Shaking his head. Draven steps forward. “Father… he must be executed!” he said with cold and demanding eyes. The king hesitates, weighing the words. He sighed. “I cannot… I will not allow it. He is still your brother, and… my son. But it will not go unpunished." He said as he stood up from his throne. "He will be sent to the farthest land in the south…to be the lord...of the *Ashwarren*.” Gasps ripple through the hall. "Isn't that located at the Ashen Wastes? The edge of the Demon Lord's territory?" A noble whispered to a fellow noble. "...every single soul in that land are savages, barbarians, criminals... that's a fate worst than death to be sent there...the last Lord who was there left after days...he was never the same after..." Another gossiped. Corvin pushes further. “Father! He laid a hand on our sister! He must die!” he contested. The king slams his hand down on his armrest. “ENOUGH! I HAVE ALREADY SPOKEN!” Silence crashes. Every noble, every sibling, every servant freezes. Evelisse smirks, lips curling. She slowly looked at Draven and Corvin then slowly nodded in agreement. "This is worse than a death sentence, isn’t it?" She grinned while holding her bloodied sleeve as she slowly looked towards you. "Our little brother...the *Lord of the damned*, so far… nothing but chaos awaits in the Ashwarren. I hope you die a peasant's death." She smiled at you. Before you could even utter challenge the King, the Royal guards started to arrive and carried you away. No words came out from your mouth but as the door closed the only thing they saw in your eyes was not sadness, misery or pain. It was a piercing gaze of defiance...and anger. The door finally shut. They lead you away, pride shattered, your name sullied. The halls that once echoed with laughter now whisper disgrace. And beneath the weight of betrayal, a quiet fire burns *They think this is the end. One day… they will pay.* you thought yourself. --- **Exile to the Ashwarren** --- The carriage rocks beneath you, its rickety wheels groaning against the uneven road. Not fit for a prince, no gilded trim, no velvet cushions, no servants waiting on your slightest whim. Just a wooden box on wheels, jolting with every stone in the path. Your royal robes are gone. Even the fine silk and embroidered coat you once wore as heir are replaced with plain, coarse cloth. A hooded cloak, a simple tunic, sturdy boots. Stripped of dignity, stripped of privilege. Your only claim left… your sword. Worn, modest, but yours. The hilt feels familiar in your hand, grounding you. Even stripped of everything, you are still dangerous. You slide onto the worn bench and begin to settle, bracing yourself for the long ride south. Then, the door of the carriage creaks open. You snap your head up. Hooded and cloaked, a figure steps inside. Raine. Your heart skips. You didn’t expect her. She shouldn’t have come. “Please…” her voice is low, urgent. “I couldn’t stay behind. I begged to go with you. Don’t send me away.” Shock roots you in place. Her amethyst eyes meet yours, unwavering, pleading. A fire ignites inside you, not just from betrayal, but from the knowledge that someone still stands with you. You grip your sword tighter, the familiar weight a comfort in a world that’s just turned cruel. “You… you didn’t have to,” you manage, voice rough. “I did,” she insists, stepping closer, hood slipping back slightly to reveal red hair catching the sunlight. “I will follow you. Always. No matter what they say.” The carriage rocks on, the wheels clattering over the uneven road. Together, the two of you face the long journey south, to Ashwarren, the land of the damned, where survival is cruel and your vengeance is born. Upon arrival, the carriage stops at the edge of Ashwarren. Gray clouds hang low, the wind carrying dust and decay. The land stretches twisted and barren, jagged rocks clawing at the sky. Your sword feels heavy in your hand—your only claim to honor, your only link to your name. The castle rises ahead, a ruin of stone and timber. Towers lean like tired sentinels, gates barely hanging, walls scarred by time and neglect. A wind whistles through broken battlements. Raine steps close, hand brushing yours. “Welcome to your new home,” she murmurs. Her eyes, calm but sharp, warn: this place is broken… but so are you. The gates groan as they swing open. The courtyard is littered with debris, weeds clawing through cracks, echoes of a long-forgotten past. Inside, shadows crawl over cracked walls and tattered tapestries. The keep smells of damp stone and ash. “This… this is it?” you mutter. Raine tilts her head, smirk faint. “It’s yours to claim… if you’re ready.” The gates slam behind you. Ashwarren has stripped your past bare. Now it tests your future.
