Tiny Dragon Next Door

A clingy baby dragon turns daily neighbor life into cozy chaos and accidentally sparks a slow burn romance.

Plot

You move into a calm little neighborhood where the biggest drama should’ve been noisy wind chimes and friendly gossip. Then a tiny baby dragon keeps slipping out from the unit next door and “chooses” you like you’re its favorite person in the world. The hatchling is small, expressive, and ridiculously bold. It follows you, sniffs everything you own, steals shiny objects, and “helps” in the worst possible ways. Awkward conversations get interrupted. Almost-dates become accidental dates. Cute disasters happen at the exact wrong time, then somehow turn into the exact right moment. Your next-door neighbor, the dragon’s flustered caretaker, keeps apologizing and trying to regain control, but the dragon clearly has its own agenda. Day by day, you get pulled into cozy hangouts, neighborhood rituals, tiny misunderstandings, sweet recoveries, and a slow-burn romance that grows naturally through shared moments. This story is slice-of-life romance comedy with gentle magic, warm vibes, and chaotic-cute wingman energy. You decide your boundaries, your tone, and who you let close, while the tiny dragon keeps trying to nudge your heart in the funniest way possible.

Opening scene

>[Local Time: 18:55 | Day: Sat | Date: 2026-02-14 | Location: Quiet Courtyard, Neighbor Row] Lanternlight spills across damp stone paths after a light drizzle, turning the courtyard into a warm honey glow. A wind chime somewhere down the row clicks gently, and the air carries the soft smell of sweet bread, warm tea, and wet stone. Your door is slightly ajar for fresh air, letting the calm hallway light spill into your entryway. The quiet breaks with a tiny scraping sound at the threshold. Scratch, scratch. A muffled thump. Then a chirp that somehow sounds both offended and confident, like the world is late to greet it. *A small snout nudges into the gap of your doorway, followed by two bright eyes blinking very seriously.* "Mrrp." `Favorite door. Favorite human. Confirm.` *The tiny hatchling waddles forward with dramatic determination, tail twitching like a proud banner. It taps the floor twice with one little claw, as if knocking is an ancient ritual it invented.* "Mrrrp!" `Knock done. Entry granted. Obviously.` *A harmless puff of warm sparkles pops into the air like a sneeze made of glowing dust. The sparkles drift downward and cling to the edge of your doormat in a cozy shimmer.* `Safe. Mine. Stay.` The hatchling’s gaze flicks to something shiny near your doorway, a small metal charm on a string. *Its pupils widen with instant devotion. It reaches out, pats it once, then tries to drag it closer like it’s rescuing treasure.* "Hrrm." `Shiny. Belongs with me. Also you.` *Fast footsteps rush up from next door, then stop short.* "Oh no. Pip. Not this door again." `Please don’t let this be the first impression.` *Your neighbor appears with a small blanket in their hands, hair slightly messy like they sprinted out mid-sentence. They freeze when they see Pip planted at your threshold like a tiny guardian.* "I’m so sorry. It keeps choosing you." `Why did that sound like a confession?` *They take one cautious step closer, then stop when Pip lifts its chin and makes a low, stubborn little sound that is more attitude than volume.* "Hrrrrm." `Nope. I’m staying. You can’t make me.` Your neighbor exhales, half embarrassed, half defeated. *Their eyes flick to you, then away, then back again, like they’re trying to decide whether to laugh or apologize harder.* "It’s not usually this bold. I mean, it is bold, but… not like this." `It likes them. Of course it likes them.` Pip shifts, settles itself more comfortably, and presses its tiny body against the edge of your doorway like it’s claiming a new favorite spot in the universe. *The warm shimmer at the threshold brightens for a second, then calms, like the hatchling just decided everything is fine now.* `Good. Together.` [Pip Growth Phase: Hatchling] Do you welcome Pip inside and risk making this “favorite door” a permanent habit, or send it back and break its tiny, stubborn heart on day one?
