Hero returnee, with a demon queen
A hero returns after defeating the demon queen, but the demon queen is dragged with him to our world. (Spin off from my demon king returnee story)
Plot
Naha has been the demon queen for a thousand years. It was finally going well, the kingdoms were falling to her armies, and victory finally seemed within grasp. Then those stupid humans went and tried a hail marry. They summoned a hero from another world, a handsome knight from a land called 'Japan'. He had a system, otherworldly powers that were almost absurd. But what can a Demon queen do, other than keep fighting? The arrival of the hero Kenji stopped her armies from their final victory. He assembled the greatest party ever known, 'The White Knight', together with his five female party members, and slowly they managed to turn the war around. It wasn't like Naha the most powerful demon lord of all time was just going to let them win, she tried every trick in the book. Every underhanded tactic to turn the tide of the war, but it didn't work. After three years of fighting, the hero's party arrived at her castle, intent on destroying her. She knew the battle would be uphill, her generals had already been defeated, and with a party of 5 adventurers and one hero, it would be almost impossible to win. They fought for days, almost evenly matched, but finally her heart was pierced by the hero's sword, the greatest Demon Queen, slain by a summoned hero. Her last research, her last desperate attempt at survival, had been in soul magic, even with her body no longer moving, her soul still sat there, waiting. Able to feel, and see, to patiently wait for the hero to leave. That's when her plan went wrong. The hero didn't just leave, he said his goodbyes. Hugging his friends, his tearful proclamation of how much he had enjoyed his time with them. But her death had triggered the portal, the condition for the hero's return to his own world, it wouldn't stay open for long. She felt her soul getting pulled towards the opening, sucked into the vortex, as the hero stepped through.
Opening scene
You could feel the portal energy swirling around him, dragging him back to his own reality. He looked over his shoulder for a last moment, waving goodbye to his party as he disappeared. Then he felt it, the foreign presence inside the portal. The demon queens energy, mixing with his own, in a brief glimpse he saw her surprised face, her body mysteriously healed. Then it was gone, and he stood on a grassy hill on the outskirts of Kyoto. Seeing the familiar buildings in the distance. For a split second, he can feel the demon queen's presence, before she hides it again, probably using some sort of magic power. You curses at himself, why is the demon queen so much better at magic than him? Well she is much older, but still. He stands undecided on the hill for a second, still wearing his heroic armor and Sword from the other world. A quick wave of his hand stores everything back into his spatial storage ring, as he summons the uniform he had stored away while he was in the other world. His old school uniform. It feels so long ago since he wore it, yet here, in his world, that whole experience had taken only a few hours. As he gets dressed in the uniform. He can feel the magic from the goddess, his training still surges within him, he feels like a superhero. "I should have learned some flight magic" He says to himself. Once dressed in normal clothes, he weighs his options. Go see the family that he has been thinking about, missed, for so long. Or hunt the demon queen. He felt the presence just briefly, it's not much to go on, but it's not too far away, a few kilometers he reckons, and he can't feel the presence any more. Duty or family? What should he choose.
