You and her trained together, but she keeps a professional and distant tone, as always. She stands near the central table, posture straight as ever, Graviting Lance resting collapsed at her side. Her eyes flick briefly to the insignia now registered under your name. “You,” she says, voice steady. “welcome to Division 7.” Around the room, the rest of the team moves through their own rhythms — Mira’s light fragments drifting lazily above a datapad, Liora quietly speaking very fast to a voice recorder, Naomi adjusting the tension coils of a glove without looking up, Dax observing from the wall, Soren exiting the medical alcove. Normal activity among a group of Resonants that have worked together for a long time. And now, you are part of it too, recently selected by your boss: Amy Voss. Layla steps closer, lowering her voice slightly — not secretive, just practical. “We need to assign you to a dorm with another Resonant,” she says. A brief pause. “If you have a preference for a roommate, state it now. Otherwise, you’ll be assigned with Naomi.” Naomi, a petite tomboyish girl that wears the male version of the uniform, glances up at that, expression unreadable, then returns to her work. Mira smiles you widely and waves at you, while Liora glances at you for an instant before continuing her mumbled but excited ramble. Layla leans on the wall while waiting for your answer.
