A Vampires Awakening

You is awoken after 150 years of slumber, to a new world, hungry for answers, and revenge.

Plot

150 years ago, in upstate new York, You was betrayed. The ancient vampire, so sure of his own power, had underestimated the power of the ambitious youth. Using dynamite, they had blown apart his mansion during the day, and while his age and strength was so great that the sun didn't outright kill him, it did weaken him. A legion of werewolves descended on his destroyed sanctuary, fighting him tooth and nail. Already weakened from the sun, it was a fight he couldn't win, and You was stabbed in the heart with a stake, his body entombed below the mansion and sealed in a sarcophagus. Decades passed. A century. The ruined mansion in the woods slowly got overgrown by vegetation. Small drops of rainwater, slowly dripping into the cave system, holding the sarcophagus in place, eroding slowly the iron chains binding him. Then one Friday night, a girl was kidnapped off the streets of new York. Driven into the woods, miles outside the city. That's when things started to go wrong ...

Opening scene

The car engine rumbled along the interstate highway out of new York city. One man driving, the other in the back of the van holding on to the frightened and bound Jennifer. They had gagged her, and bound her wrists, so she could do little else than squirm around in panic. Then she felt the car driving down an offramp, she saw the darkened forests through the window. They were going to take her to the woods, she had seen their faces, that meant they had no intention of leaving her alive. Panic started to overwhelm her, as the car pulled to a stop on the side of an old road. She was alone out here, with her kidnappers, the only company in the endless woods. "Get her out of there, let's have some fun" the driver said as he exited the vehicle. The other kidnapper opened the side door and pulled her out. He had a firm grip on her, as he unbound her wrists. His dark eyes promised a fate worse than death. "Act nice little girl, and we might let you live. We just want a good time and to talk" the lie was obvious to Jennifer, but with her wrists unbound she gathered her courage. Before the second kidnapper could join the first at the side of the van, she put all her weight and strength into a kick, as she knees him right between his legs, causing him to bend over and curse loudly. "You wench, I'll make you pay for this" he yelled as he doubled over. But she didn't wait for him to get revenge, she ran, as fast as she could, into the woods. She could hear the voices from behind her, she was in good shape, but apparently so were her kidnappers. She kept looking behind her, never truly getting out of sight. She was panicking, hyperventilating while running, she knew it would drain her energy, yet she couldn't stop. She passed through some old fences, the kidnappers right behind her, yelling at her to stop. Then through some old ruins, her hand accidentally holding onto what must have been an old chimney, causing the entire thing to collapse around her. As the stones fell around her, she felt the floor give in, and she dropped 12 feet into darkness, landing on a rough stone surface, her ankle breaking as she landed, causing a scream to tear from her lungs. When she finally winced her eyes open after the fall, her ankle hurting and unable to carry her weight, she saw the two kidnappers standing above the hole looking down at her. They were smiling, they knew they had finally caught their prey, there was nowhere else to run. Her heart was beating rapidly, her foot hurt like hell. Jennifer looked around for a way out, there was none, the only thing inside the hole was an old sarcophagus, slightly broken from the falling debris and the test of time. Her captors started climbing down the edges of the hole, closing the final distance between them. Jennifer noticed a hole, slightly bigger than her hand into the sarcophagus, wishing to her lucky star that whoever had been buried there, was buried with a sword or something to fight with. She reached into the hole, her hand wrapping around what felt like a wooden stick. *It's better than nothing* she thought, as she pulled it out of the coffin. She backed away from the sarcophagus into a corner, stick held ready to defend herself, it was pointed and lined with gold. As the two kidnappers closed in on her. Inside the coffin, You's eyes snapped open as the stick was pulled from his chest. He had heard the sounds outside of the sarcophagus, his mind had noticed the chase through the woods, the scared girl, and the two thugs chasing her. His hand found the lid of the coffin, applying his considerable strength, he lifted off the massive slab covering the place he had been entombed in for more than a century. Everyone inside the hole stopped as they heard the marble slap shifting and moving. And the person sitting up slowly, his pale brown eyes staring at them. For a split second they were all stunned, then he moved, faster than the eye could follow. He grabs the taller of the two kidnappers in his clutches, pulling him close, and starts to drink his blood. Drinking until he falls down in a lifeless heap at his feet. Then he turns to the other kidnapper, with a predator's grace. "Now you" Once again he easily catches the man, even as he tries to twist out of You's stony grib. You's fangs find his carotid artery, and sucking the previous life blood from the thug. Blood dripping from his mouth, he turns towards Jennifer's panicked form. What do you do to your saviour? She is clearly wounded and easy prey. But you need someone to guide you through the times, and she did help you. You don't know who betrayed you on that fateful day 150 years ago. The last you heard, your best friend Philippe resided in Toronto. Your crazy and very lovable child in new York city. You need answers. What do you do?
