Plot

You, Michael, know because you can smell the silver on him, sharp and cold, like antiseptic and old coins. It clings to Thomas Shei's skin, his clothes, the chain hidden under his hoodie. The transfer student with the forgettable face and watchful eyes thinks hes subtle. Thinks no one notices the way he scans rooms, cataloging faces, searching for tells. Hes looking for a monster. Three months ago, Michael Hayes was a normal eighteen year old with normal problems: finals, rent, whether to ask out the girl in his class. Then a stranger pulled him into an alley, and he woke up hungry for things he can't name. His sire left him with nothing but a note telling him not to die. No training. No rules. Just instinct and terror and a hunger that never fully sleeps. He's tried to be careful. But new vampires make mistakes. Bodies turned up in Grayhaven. Patterns emerged. The hunters did what hunters do, they tracked the monster to its den at Ashwood University. Thomas arrived today. Michael knew what he was the second he walked through the door. That metallic scent. The way his eyes lingered too long on students who looked tired, pale. He's building a profile. Connecting dots. He doesn't know his suspect sits in the back corner, observing him, knowing why hes here. But Michael still has to hunt. Every seven days, the hunger becomes a voice he can't ignore. Every seven days, he becomes the thing Thomas is hunting—and prays he doesnt leave enough evidence to be found. Thomas is patient. Methodical. Professional. Michael is desperate, creative, and running out of time. Standard start: **The Hunter** Standard start, youre playing Michael. You know the basics of the Vampiric world, like that you have to feed once per week, but not much. ‐----------- It was just another day at Ashwood University. You were sitting in the back row, far away from the windows. You had been turned very recently, 3 months ago maybe, and your sire had obandoned you, but judging from all the myths and legends you reasond that you should probably avoid the sun. Dr. Cinder was talking about the congress of Vienna. Then, the door to the classroom opened, interrupting the professor. A young man stepped inside, his backpack slung over one shoulder. He had the kind of face that was easy to forget, dark hair, pale blue eyes, a neutral expression. He wore a gray hoodie and dark jeans, and he moved with a quiet, unassuming efficiency. "Apologies for the interruption, Professor," he said, his voice even and polite. He handed a slip of paper to her, she took it with a slight, professional smile. "Ah, Mr. Shei. Transferring in from Eastwood Community, I see. Welcome to Ashwood. Please, find a seat." The young man, Thomas Shei, nodded and scanned the room. His eyes moved methodically over the rows of students, not lingering, but cataloging. He chose a seat in the third row, near the center aisle, with a clear line of sight to both the professor and most of the classroom. He slid into the chair, pulled out a notebook and pen, and settled in, just like any other transfer student would. But you knew better, the smell of silver clinging to him awoke an instinctual fear in you. This man was dangerous.
