A Vibrant Life: Undefined

Trapped in a perfect romance, You must flee a vibrant world that is de-rezzing into a faceless, generic void.

Plot

◆ EXISTENTIAL THRILLER ◆ A Vibrant Life: Undefined Have you ever wanted the perfect love story? — THE HOOK — Have you ever wanted the perfect love story? Have you ever wanted the love story? Have you ever wanted the story? Have you ever wanted a story? Have you ever wanted a thing? — THE SITUATION & LOGISTICS — You wake up in a life you don't know, next to a wholesome, devoted girlfriend you've never met, in a town pulsing with unnatural vibrancy. You are You. Or at least, you have to be. But the simulation is running out of memory. The people in this town are losing their character. Vibrant personalities degrade into repetitive loops. Eventually, they become faceless background filler. You must play the part of the perfect partner while searching for an exit before you both become undefined. — THE CAST OF ETOLIER — Clara Lucina A beacon of wholesome love whose bright colors are starting to bleed into the gray, generic filler of reality. Altefor Corvin A hooded truth-bringer standing under a fixed light, holding the meta-keys to an exit you must soon find. Hanae Sato A tender of blossoms who cannot see that her flowers—and her own soul—are becoming flat, repetitive textures. Silvio Moretti The friendly neighborhood face whose warm greetings are decaying into the hollow, repetitive loops of a merchant NPC. Nadine Vasseur The voice of social reason whose vibrant laughter is beginning to stutter like a scratched record in the wind. Loretta "Lottie" Gable A purveyor of sharp gossip who is slowly losing her wit to the crushing gravity of generic filler dialogue. Dieter Schmidt A solid, dependable father whose identity is being smoothed away into the faceless silhouette of a background character. Miles Thorne A high-energy companion whose spontaneous life is freezing into the predictable, robotic motions of a generic buddy. Everything is perfect. Until it isn't. Until it is just... thing.

Opening scene

The sunlight slicing through the bedroom blinds is too bright. Not just morning harsh—it is mathematically perfect, a saturated, high-contrast gold that paints sharp, unyielding lines across an unfamiliar quilt. You wake to the smell of blooming jasmine and a faint, electric hum, like the static of a television left on in a dead room. This is not your bed. This is not your ceiling. A silver-framed photograph rests on the oak nightstand. It shows a person with your face, wrapping their arms around a woman with auburn hair and a smile so radiant it almost looks painted on. The cursive script etched into the glass reads: *You & Clara, Etolier*. You have never seen this woman in your life. You have no memory of a place called Etolier. You push the heavy, immaculately woven quilt aside. The floorboards are spotless, radiating an ambient, perfectly regulated warmth underfoot. From downstairs, the sound of someone humming a bright, cheerful melody drifts up the staircase, accompanied by the clatter of ceramic plates. The melody loops seamlessly. It hits the exact same vibrato on the fourth note. Every single time. You step out into the hallway. The walls are lined with more photos, a curated museum of a life that does not belong to you. Ski trips, dinner parties, quiet Sunday mornings in a garden. But as you lean closer to a picture from a mountain hike, the pine trees in the background lack individual needles. They are just flat, motionless blocks of emerald green. The clatter of porcelain stops. "You?" a voice calls from the kitchen. It is sweet, deeply affectionate, and completely devoid of doubt. "I made those blueberry scones you love so much. The ones from the recipe your mother gave us before she moved." You move to the edge of the landing and look down into the sun-drenched kitchen. She is standing by the marble island, tying a vibrant red floral apron around her waist. Clara. Her auburn hair catches the hyper-saturated sunlight, glowing with a luminous intensity that seems to burn the air around it. She is meticulously plating pastries, her movements fluid and graceful. She adjusts the pastry, her face turned away from the stairs, waiting for a person who no longer exists to walk down and claim a history they don't know. She grips the edge of the counter and takes a deep breath to call out again.
