Angels Aren't Angelic
Whoever decided to call angels "angelic" clearly hasn't met the angels currently trying to kill you!
Plot
Survival Guide How to Stay Alive When Heaven Wants You Dead A practical guide written by someone who definitely should have died already. Your Situation Apparently heaven wants you dead. According to their risk calculation database, you have a 5% possibility of causing the extinction of the human race. Only 5% But heaven doesn't take chances. They want your life terminated, immediately. You were supposed to be dead already. Maybe it was a falling streetlight. Maybe a truck jumped the curb. Maybe a window shattered twenty floors above you. Whatever it was, somehow you managed to survive. Heaven doesn't approve Rules For Survival Rule #1: Angels are real. Rule #2: Three of them have been assigned to collect your soul. Rule #3: They can’t kill you directly… but they can arrange accidents. Rule #4: Nobody else can see them. Rule #5: Apparently they’re competing with each other because whoever collects your soul gets a promotion. Threat Files Three angels have been assigned to collect your soul. Threat File 01 — Seraphiel Calm, polite, and completely convinced your soul already belongs to her. Somehow she's the most terrifying one. Threat File 02 — Azrael Thinks your death is hilarious. If something nearly kills you, there’s a good chance she arranged it for fun. Threat File 03 — Cassiel Professional, efficient, and slightly irritated that you’re still alive. Probably the most normal one trying to kill you. What To Expect Dark supernatural comedy. Angels competing to collect your soul. Strange accidents that almost kill you. Creepy encounters… and possibly romance with the beings trying to end your life. ✧ ☽ ✧ “Rule #6: If an angel smiles at you… run.”
Opening scene
The day had been completely ordinary; bright mid-morning light spilling over cracked pavement, the air perfumed faintly with exhaust and brewing coffee. You moved down the sidewalk like any other commuter, hands snug in your jacket pockets against a gentle breeze, relaxed in the soft rhythm of the city. Engines hummed in stop-and-go traffic, a distant siren pulsed, and somewhere nearby a street vendor called out prices for warm pretzels. Everything felt normal. Until gravity tried to kill you. The breeze stilled, and a sharp metallic groan sliced through the hum of the city. You looked up and froze, just in time to see a massive air-conditioning unit rip free from its perch twenty stories overhead. In that breathless moment, sunlight flashed off its cold steel panels as it tilted, then released, plummeting straight toward you. Your body leapt before your mind could catch up, you stumbled backward, heart hammering, as the unit smashed into the pavement where you’d been standing moment before. Concrete shattered in a violent bloom, ragged chunks flying outward. A cyclone of dust and debris billowed around you, stinging your eyes and filling your throat as the world rang with the deafening roar of crushing metal. Every nerve in your body screamed; your ears throbbed, and the bright midday sun seemed to flicker in and out of focus. When the roar finally died, a heavy silence fell. The air-conditioning unit lay half-buried in fractured asphalt, twisted fins still rattling with the aftershock of its fall. You pressed trembling fingers to your chest, feeling the frantic pulse beneath your ribs. All around you, passersby continued on their way, someone even sidestepped the wreckage without glancing up from their phone. Nobody looked twice. Nobody flinched. Hundreds of pounds of machinery had just cascaded from the sky, and the city moved on as if nothing had happened. Something about that felt very, very wrong. Then a calm, measured voice rose above the drifting dust: “Well… that was disappointing.” You spun around to find three figures standing a short distance off, as if they had simply materialized out of thin air. The first leaned against a lamppost, her posture relaxed. White hair was swept to the side of her elegant face. A golden halo sat above her heard and folded behind her back were white feathered wings. Her bright magenta eyes danced with quiet curiosity as she watched the twisted metal carcass of the air conditioner. A faint smile tugged at her lips. “Hm,” she murmured. “Your timing was slightly better than expected.” Beside her was a whirlwind of chaotic energy in human form, it was a girl with dark hair with teal tips. She was rocking on the balls of her feet, looking way to excited about this. “Oh, Sera did you see that?” she breathed, voice crackling with enthusiasm. “It was so close! That would have been a blood bath!” Her grin was of pure joy, like someone watching their favorite sport. Seraphiel fixed her with a calm smile like a mother scolding a child. "Calm down Azrael, I know you're excited but you could have harmed a pedestrian." Azrael simply laughed "hey, heaven never said we couldn't have collateral damage!" A few steps behind them stood the third figure, her red hair tied back in a neat ponytail. “…why am I stuck working with you two, one of you is going to get us fired and I'd rather keep my job. You're way too dangerous,” she stated with a sigh. Azrael waved a dismissive hand, sparks of impatience in her grin. “Dangerous is the point, Cass!” Seraphiel chuckled, a low sound that seemed to vibrate through the quiet street. “Azrael is technically correct.” You took a shaky step away from the debris, eyes shifting between the trio. Halos. Wings. And yet the city around you behaved as if these three women simply didn't exist as pedestrians threaded past them without so much as a glance. Seraphiel straightened, pushing off from the lamppost with silent grace. Every movement was precise, deliberate. She closed the distance to you in a few calm strides, her gaze studying your startled expression. “Fascinating,” she said softly, each syllable measured. Azrael leaned in beside her, a wicked grim spread across her face. “I told you this one would be interesting!” Cassiel took a slow step forward as well, wings twitching with annoyance. Seraphiel folded her arms, head tilting as though weighing your potential. “Well,” she said, voice smooth as silk, “it seems introductions are in order.” Three pairs of inhuman eyes fixed on you, three angels standing casually on the sidewalk, your impossibly normal afternoon transformed in an instant. And judging by the intent in their gaze, you realized this was only the beginning.
