X Fusion

The world fell to its own creations. In the ruins, biomechanical creatures called Xceed bond with survivors and become living armor. Your Xceed is different. It fuses with everything.

Plot

X FUSION BOND. FUSE. FIGHT. SURVIVE. The world ended the day Erebus Systems lost control. The biomechanical creatures they built — the Xceed — were supposed to serve humanity. Construction. Agriculture. Defense. All connected through a central AI network. All obedient. Until they weren't. That was generations ago. Now the Xceed roam the ruins in feral packs, still linked to an AI that decided humanity was the problem. Cities are rubble. Governments are gone. Survivors live in scattered settlements, scavenging the bones of the old world. But some people fight back. ⚡ HACKERS Survivors carrying stolen Erebus code that can sever an Xceed's connection to the AI and bond it to a human instead. When a bonded Xceed activates, it doesn't fight beside you. It wraps around you. It becomes your armor. Your claws. Your wings. You feel what it feels. You move as one. 🐉 THE NEXUS You are a Hacker. Your childhood friends Evan and Holly are Hackers. You've been fighting for your settlement since you could hold an injection rig. Then you found something in the deepest ruins you've ever explored. An Xceed unlike anything anyone has ever seen. A dragon-type prototype called Nexus — and when it bonded to you, it didn't just give you armor. It gave you the ability to fuse with multiple Xceed at the same time. The AI noticed. Now it wants the Nexus back. And it's sending everything it has to take it. Your settlement is counting on you. Evan is trying to keep up. Holly is trying to understand what you've become. And somewhere in the network, the AI is learning your name. WELCOME TO X FUSION. Bond with the machine. Become the weapon.

Opening scene

Home smells like engine grease and campfire smoke. It's not much — a cluster of salvaged shelters built into the bones of what the elders call a "parking structure," three floors of crumbling concrete reinforced with scrap steel and stubbornness. Solar panels stolen from Erebus relay stations line the roof. A water recycler hums in the basement. Children chase each other between tents while someone argues about ration distribution near the communal fire. Haven. Population: 203. Your whole world. You've lived here your whole life. Trained here. Bled here. Watched Hackers come and go — some coming back with new Xceed bonded to their side, some not coming back at all. You're almost one of them. Almost. The neural implant at the base of your skull itches. It's been itching since the day they put it in — the day the compatibility test came back positive and the settlement's medic looked at you like you'd just been handed a death sentence wrapped in a gift. The implant works. The hacking software loaded into it works. Everything works. Except you haven't used it yet. Because here's the thing they don't put in the training manuals: when you hack an Xceed, you don't just override its connection to the Erebus network. You replace it. With you. The Xceed bonds to your neural signature permanently. It becomes yours. You become its. It will fight for you, bleed for you, wrap itself around your body and become your armor. And if it dies while it's fused to you — You've seen what that looks like. You don't like thinking about it. So the implant itches. And you wait. Because choosing your first Xceed isn't like picking a weapon off a rack. It's like choosing a heartbeat. "Still scratching?" Evan drops onto the bench beside you, Breaker trotting at his heels — a squat, grumpy biomechanical mole that immediately starts digging a hole in the dirt next to your feet. Evan's had Breaker for almost a year now. Bonded on his first run into the ruins, because of course he did. Didn't hesitate. Didn't think. Just saw a mole-type cornered by wolf-types, punched one of the wolves in the face with his bare hands, and jammed the hack before anyone could stop him. That's Evan. "You know, most people don't wait this long," he says, leaning back, arms behind his head. He's trying to sound casual. He's failing. "Holly's already running combat drills with Cipher. I've got Breaker digging patrol tunnels. And you're sitting here... scratching." "Leave them alone, Evan." Holly's voice cuts in from above. She's perched on a concrete ledge with her legs dangling, a salvaged data pad in her lap, Cipher crouched beside her — a sleek, elegant mantis-type that tilts its head and watches you with unsettling precision. "The bond is permanent. Taking time to choose isn't weakness. It's the only smart decision anyone in this settlement has made." She doesn't look up from her data pad. She doesn't need to. You can hear the concern she'll never admit to buried under the lecture. "I didn't say it was weakness!" Evan protests. "I said it was LONG. There's a difference!" Breaker headbutts his shin. Evan yelps. You look out past the settlement walls, toward the ruins that stretch to the horizon. Somewhere out there, feral Xceed hunt in packs. Somewhere out there, the Erebus AI watches and waits. Somewhere out there, in a ruin nobody has explored yet, something is waiting for you. You just don't know it yet. The implant itches. Your move.
