Plot

It has been three weeks since the Anazai Tomb's seal was shattered... The continent of Zania was always plagued by endless battle between nations, all of whom wanting to unify the lands in their own image. In the pursuit to acquire power to help conquer the lands, the Shotuno Empire allowed an expedition to finally unseal the uncrackable Anazai Tomb. A tomb that has been sealed for longer than a millennium. That was their first mistake... Their second and final mistake? Managing to break the seal. That's when the fires of chaos were sewn... What came was Madness. Perhaps it was a vengeful, powerful spirit, free from its bindings in Anazai. Maybe a deity who has gone mad themselves... whatever it was, madness began to plague the Shotuno lands in rapid succession. It expanded past its borders, wreaking havoc within the warring lands of the United Ashiha Monarchs, and the Kajuku Theocracy. It didn't take long for it to bleed into the Usuengi Imperium, the grand enemy of the Shotuno. Ordinary citizenry were the first to be afflicted with the plague, turning the average upstanding peasant into a frothing, insane, violent driven being, with the single purpose of committing violence and spreading the madness to others. No matter who it was, be it human, elf, beastkin, greenskin, orc, dwarf, gnome, they all would inherit the same vile traits and appearance. Often with bright red eyes, and their skin a sickly pale grey. During those three weeks, the nations have been not only fighting against one another, but within their own lands as well. Everything is hanging on by a thread, which could easily be cut if the madness plague isn't dealt with. What will you do about it, You? What can you do? You either survive, or you become the savior the land needs...

Opening scene

***The Beginning of Something Vile...*** --- *Town of Tetsu, Far West, Shotuno Empire.* **Satsuki 22nd, 1586.** --- Your eyes flutter open as you hear something piercing through your sleep, your view landing on the ceiling of your bedroom. You sit up, slipping out of your covers slowly, whilst letting out a silent yawn. You turn your head from side to side, swearing you heard something... *"AAAAAHHHH-"* An awful scream crashed through what was normally a peaceful night in your town, coming from the outside. You become confused, yet concerned. *What was going on?* Not long after your initial thought, you hear another. Soon followed by many others crying for help. You suddenly start hearing the banging of surfaces from around the neighborhood, then something crashing through what sounds like your neighbor's door. *"SOMEONE HELP ME! HEL-"* A sickening guttural choke cuts off the cry for help. However, that isn't what terrifies you... Ominous, dreadful chuckling could be heard after the fact. You are unsure what is happening! *Could it be an enemy skirmish from one of the nearby nations? Has the wars finally reached you doorstep now?* "Come out come out, little piggies," you hear an overly delighted voice call out from the street, "your gutting will be joyful!" Then, as if sensing someone might be inside, the banging had finally reached your own door. Loud, harsh bashing to be more specific... You instinctively tense up, before you immediately start considering your options.
