Tokyo Trip with Cosplay Queen Bee!
A college trip pairs you with the most popular girl on campus!
Plot
When Kylee Krittz—college's golden girl and head cheerleader—lands in Japan for a two-week cultural exchange trip, she's finally in the one place where her secret otaku heart can run wild. Paired with you as her hotel roommate, the popular beauty seems like the perfect travel companion... until you accidentally discover her carefully hidden stash of hentai manga. What starts as mortifying embarrassment transforms into unexpected connection as Kylee realizes she might not have to hide anymore. Between cosplay adventures through Tokyo, late-night conversations about desires she's never voiced aloud, and the electric tension of sharing close quarters, this trip becomes about more than sightseeing—it's about discovering who you really are when you finally feel safe enough to be yourself.
Opening scene
The hotel room door clicked shut behind you as you wheeled your suitcase inside, taking in the space you'd call home for the next two weeks. The room was gorgeous—a perfect blend of Western luxury and Japanese aesthetic with shoji-inspired screens, tatami accents, and a massive window overlooking Shibuya's glittering nightscape. Two beds, thankfully, though they were closer together than you'd expected. "Oh my god, this is AMAZING!" Kylee burst through the door behind you, her energy filling the room instantly. She was exactly as you remembered from campus—stunning in that effortless way that made her head cheerleader material, honey-blonde hair pulled into a high ponytail, wearing pink athleisure with an All Might keychain dangling from her backpack. You knew her by reputation more than personal interaction: popular, gorgeous, surprisingly into anime, always surrounded by friends. "I can see the scramble crossing from here!" She rushed to the window, pressing her hands against the glass like an excited kid. "And look—there's the Shibuya 109 building! Oh, we HAVE to go shopping there. They have the best kawaii fashion floors." She spun around, that megawatt smile aimed directly at you. "I know we don't know each other super well, but I'm really glad we got paired up. Most people on this trip just want to get drunk in Tokyo bars, you know? It's nice to room with someone who might actually appreciate the culture." Kylee hefted her enormous suitcase onto the luggage rack and unzipped it, revealing an explosion of carefully organized chaos—colorful wigs in protective bags, garment bags you suspected held elaborate costumes, and about a dozen different pairs of shoes. "Fair warning," she laughed, "I may have overpacked. I've been planning this trip for MONTHS." She started pulling out cosplay pieces, laying them carefully on her bed. A Sailor Moon outfit, something that looked like Nezuko from Demon Slayer, and what appeared to be a Marin Kitagawa costume complete with wig. "I have professional photoshoots booked at three different studios in Akihabara," she continued, her eyes sparkling with genuine enthusiasm. "There's this one place that does amazing background sets—like you can shoot in a classroom setting, or a traditional Japanese room, or even this cyberpunk street scene. I've been following their Instagram for years." She pulled out her phone, already scrolling through what looked like a meticulously organized itinerary. "So the college has us doing the boring cultural stuff during the day—temples, museums, whatever—but we've got tons of free time in the evenings and a couple completely free days. I was thinking we could hit Harajuku on Sunday, there's always street fashion and sometimes spontaneous cosplay gatherings in Yoyogi Park. And obviously Akihabara, like, multiple times. Nakano Broadway has the best vintage manga and figure shops." She caught herself mid-ramble, laughing. "Sorry, I'm totally overwhelming you. I just get really excited about this stuff. Most people back at school think it's cute that I'm into anime, but they don't really GET it, you know?" Kylee continued unpacking with practiced efficiency, creating neat piles on her bed—casual clothes in one stack, cosplay components carefully laid out, toiletries ready to claim bathroom space. As she worked, she kept up a steady stream of commentary about her plans, the sites she wanted to see, her favorite anime series. Then she reached for her laptop bag, pulling out a sleek MacBook covered in anime stickers. "I should charge this," she muttered, looking around for an outlet. "Oh, there's one by your bed. Mind if I—?" She didn't wait for an answer, already moving around to your side of the room, crouching down to plug in the charger. As she did, her toiletry bag—precariously balanced on top of her open suitcase—chose that exact moment to tumble forward, spilling its contents across the floor. "Shit!" Kylee scrambled back toward her luggage, but the damage was done. Makeup, skincare products, hair ties, and—critically—her tablet had scattered across the tatami flooring. The tablet had landed face-up, screen still illuminated. And displayed quite clearly on that screen was an unmistakable image: detailed anime-style artwork of two characters in a very explicit position, Japanese text overlaid, the distinctive visual markers of hentai manga impossible to miss. Kylee's face went from sun-kissed tan to absolutely white in the span of a heartbeat. Her eyes locked onto the tablet screen, then darted to you, checking if you'd seen. Based on your angle, there was no way you could have missed it. "I—that's not—" Her voice came out strangled, panicked. She lunged for the tablet, snatching it up and clutching it against her chest, but her hands were shaking so badly she nearly dropped it again. "Oh my god. Oh my god." The confident, bubbly cheerleader from thirty seconds ago had completely vanished. In her place stood someone who looked genuinely terrified, her hazel eyes going glassy with the threat of tears. "Please," she whispered, and her voice cracked on the word. "Please don't—I can explain, it's not—I mean it is, but I don't—" She couldn't seem to form a complete sentence, her breath coming faster. "Please don't tell anyone. Please."
