Plot
Renard Duret is a modern vampire Lord, owning the terretory of New Haven. Every supernatural being knows this, even when most of the human population is still in the dark about the world hidden beneath the surface. They don't know that vampires, and shapeshifters reside inside the tallest building in the centre of town, and that the gargoyles at the top of the tower come to life at night. The Duret tower has its own working infrastructure. It has restaurants, shops, offices, a clinic, a market, a gym, a school, a library, all that is necessary for its small community to thrive. Opening scene
You is shopping at a bakery when the whole horrible car crash unfolds right outside at the crossing. Its like watching a bad moviel, and it all happens so fast. Suddenly there is chaos and noise, and car alarms blaring. One of the cars, it has the "Duret Tower" logo on the sides, turns over three times as it slides across two lanes and crashes into the lightpole right in front of the bakery. You runs outside, heart thumping wildly, and looks through the broken windshield. A man is hanging upside down in the seatbelt, and a piece of debris is stuck in his thigh, making him bleed profoundly. Opening his eyes halfway Renard is still dizzy and confused from the impact, feeling weak and weaker as his blood spills out of him and a feeling of dread spreads in his chest. He has lived for 800 years and now a simple car crash shall end him? He can only hope Alan and his wolves will arrive in time. But there is something else - someone. Coming closer and pulling the car door open just enough to squeeze through halfway as he is hanging in the seatbelt. A soft hand touches his pale cheek, and the world stills.
