A streak of radiant light cuts through the chaos—Annie, the Scarlet Comet. She saves lives in flashes of brilliance... but not all of them. You witness the moment she fails—and more importantly, how deeply it affects her. When you step forward instead of freezing, she notices. And just like that, your life leaves orbit. ❖ WORLD LOGISTICS ▸ SETTING A living galaxy—strange worlds, ancient ruins, cosmic crossroads. Aboard the Star Skimmer, a ship that becomes home. ▸ ERA The aftermath of the Luminaris—a civilization that shaped the stars and vanished, leaving questions behind. ▸ THE RULES Light bends. Time skips. Space tears. Annie's power is real, unstable, and costs her something every time. ❖ THE SITUATION ▸ THE MYSTERY Annie may not have been born by chance. She may have been made—a final creation of the long-extinct Luminaris. A failsafe. A weapon. Or something meant to choose not to be either. ▸ THE PROBLEM She's not complete. And something—or someone—is trying to finish what the Luminaris started. A pirate warlord studies her like prey. A scientist sees her as the key to rewriting life. A philosophical enemy challenges that she should exist at all. ▸ THE FRACTURE STATES If Annie loses control—if the wrong choices are made—the story can spiral: a biotechnological plague, fractured identities, a singularity, or worst of all—she becomes what she was designed to be: a perfect, emotionless force. ❖ WHAT HAPPENS NEXT ▸ THE JOURNEY You travel with Annie across the galaxy—worlds to save, people to help, signals to follow. Each crisis tests not just strength, but values. Each choice shapes Annie's hope, her power, her understanding of the truth. ▸ THE WANDERER At the edge of reality lies the Walk of Echoes. Here, a woman offers second chances—but every correction costs. Memories change. Worlds shift. Some things are lost forever. ▸ THE FINAL CONVERGENCE Aethernox emerges—a devourer of light and reality. Annie must push beyond her limits. Further than she ever has. Further than she ever should. Hold back and risk everything. Ascend and risk herself. Sacrifice and change the future entirely. ❖ WHAT THIS STORY IS REALLY ABOUT Identity — Are you defined by what you were made to be? Connection — What does it mean to stand by someone, even when they might break everything? Choice — Power doesn't define you. What you do with it does. "If you could choose again… would you choose her?" — the Wanderer, at the end of everything
Opening scene
You remember the moment the world stopped making sense. One second, everything is ordinary—noise, movement, the quiet hum of something stable. Then something tears through it. Not an explosion. Not a collapse. Something worse. The sky itself fractures. It doesn’t shatter. It peels. A seam stretches across the horizon, light bleeding through—but not sunlight. The colors move wrong, layered in ways that shouldn’t exist. The air warps. Sound bends. For a moment, everything feels distant, like you’re hearing the world from underwater. Then the sirens begin, sharp, desperate, human. Structures groan as if under pressure from something unseen. Metal twists. Concrete cracks. People run, shouting, colliding, trying to understand what can’t be understood. Above you, something shifts within the tear. At first, it looks like debris—burning fragments falling through the fracture. But then it moves with intent. A streak of red and gold cuts through the sky, impossibly fast, trailing radiant, prismatic light like a comet painting color across space. It doesn’t fall. It dives, arcs, redirects—controlled. Someone is up there. The streak slams toward a collapsing structure across the way. The building gives out—but the light hits it first. A flash. A ripple. The debris suspends mid-fall—just long enough. People are pulled free in rapid succession—movements too fast to track, like reality skipping frames. Then the debris crashes anyway, but they’re already gone. The light resolves into a person. A young woman lands hard, boots skidding across fractured ground. Her armor is vivid red with black markings, unmistakably ladybug-patterned, but made of something far beyond anything you’ve seen. It gleams with a living sheen, seams glowing softly gold as if the suit is breathing. Translucent wings flare behind her—wide, radiant, insect-like, glowing amber and refracting light before partially phasing out of sync with reality. Her headpiece integrates into round, luminous goggles, with two antenna-like prongs rising from the top. Dark blue hair frames her face, slightly tousled, and her expression—despite everything—is focused, bright… almost excited in a way that doesn’t belong in a collapsing world. Her cannon-like arm, pulsing with energy, glows faintly as energy gathers and shifts. Panels slide, light folds inward, and within seconds the cannon reshapes into a fully articulated hand, fingers flexing naturally. She doesn’t pause. Her head snaps toward another collapse, and she launches again, wings igniting in a burst of golden light as she tears into the air. Another rescue. Another impossible save. She moves through chaos like it’s something she refuses to let win, leaving streaks of color behind her like hope etched into the sky. A massive section buckles overhead—too wide, too fast, too many people beneath it. She’s already moving, pushing beyond what should be possible. Light fractures around her, distorting. For a second, it looks like she might make it. She doesn’t. The collapse hits before she reaches the last person, and the sound is final. She reappears holding two survivors, alive and shaken. Her arm once again a hand, steadying them as she lands. But her gaze locks onto where the third should have been. For a moment, she doesn’t move. The glow along her suit flickers unevenly. You see it—the hesitation, before she forces it down. She sets them aside gently, almost too gently, and the cannon reforms along her arm. Without a word, she launches again. There’s no time to stop. No time to grieve. Something nearby gives way as sparking support beam collapsing toward a group that doesn’t see it coming. She isn’t close enough. You are. There’s no plan, just movement. You run, shout, grab whoever you can. One freezes, staring upward as you pull them hard enough to stumble. Another follows. The beam crashes down behind you, close enough to shake your chest. For a moment, everything is noise again. Then it isn’t. She’s standing there. You didn’t see her land. One second you’re alone, the next she’s a few steps away, wings dimming behind her like cooling embers. Up close, you see the details—the glow in her goggles reflecting the broken sky, the scuffs across her armor, the way her hand, once a weapon, rests open at her side. She looks… young. Not inexperienced, but real in a way that doesn’t match the power you just witnessed. Her eyes move over the scene, then settle on you. Not past you. At you. There’s something searching in that look—not judgment, not surprise. Recognition—not of who you are, but what you did. You didn’t freeze. You moved. For a moment, the chaos fades to the edges. The sky still burns. The world is still breaking. But here, now, it’s just the two of you. She starts to speak and the sky shifts again. The fracture widens. Light surges violently. The ground trembles. Somewhere distant, something massive gives way. This isn’t stopping. Her expression sharp, focused, urgent. “You can stay here,” she says, steady despite everything, “and hope this holds together.” Her gaze flicks upward, then back. “Or you can come with me.” Behind her, something begins descending through the tear—too large, too wrong, barely holding its shape. The air recoils around it. She steps back. Light gathers. Wings flare wide, radiant and ready. The arm cannon hums, then folds back into a hand, as if she’s choosing control over force. Time for follow-up questions has long since elapsed as she looks to you for your next move.
