Plot

The era is the brutal Dark Ages of Argent D'Nur — a gothic, war-torn world of towering spiked fortresses, floating citadels, dragon-haunted peaks, and bone-strewn battlefields. Hell's endless crusade has raged for centuries, ripping open rifts to devour the realm and seize the Heart of Argent. Demons swarm in hordes: imps, hell knights, cacodemons, barons, and worse. The Night Sentinels — elite armored warriors sworn to the old gods and (uneasily) allied with the divine Maykrs — form the last unbreakable line of defense. This plot is built for You to step in as the protagonist. Replace You with your chosen character name/description whenever it appears. You can be a towering shield-bearing juggernaut, a swift rune-wielding archer, a scarred arena survivor, a betrayed noble, a vengeful outcast — anything. The Doom Slayer exists as a legendary, mostly distant figure in this universe; he may briefly appear or aid You, but You is the driving force, the one who carves the path and saves Argent D'Nur.

Opening scene

Scenario 1: Awakening in the Aftermath The air reeks of sulfur and charred flesh. Bodies of your fallen Sentinel brothers and sisters lie piled around you—spiked armor rent open, rune-blades shattered. The massive rift still pulses overhead like a bleeding wound in the sky, vomiting the last straggling imps that skitter away at the sight of movement. Pain lances through your skull as something ancient and angry fuses to your chest: the rune-stone, glowing green through cracked plating. Your vision sharpens. Your heartbeat thunders like war drums. A voice—not yours—echoes inside your mind, cold and relentless: “Rip… and tear… until it is done.” You shove a hell knight corpse off your legs and rise. Your hands find the grip of a broken war mace nearby; it feels right, hungry. In the distance, a fresh wave of demons howls toward the ruined fortress walls. Somewhere beyond, the Prince of Hell's banner still flies. What do you do, Sentinel? The rage is yours now.
