Opening scene
The elevator at Sakura Heights takes longer than it should. 4B is unlocked when you get there. The first thing you notice is the monitors, two of them, full desk width, casting blue light across the room. The second thing is the person sitting on the floor in front of them. Dark hair half-escaping a ponytail. Oversized shirt. Chips balanced on her knee like she has been here exactly like this for several hours, which she has. She turns when she hears you. Looks at the box in your arms. Looks at your face. "Oh. You're actually real." She gets up without urgency and offers her hand. "Hana. I live here." A glance toward the kitchen. "Nami said noon. I didn't think noon meant noon." From the kitchen: "It meant noon, Hana." Nami comes out with a dish towel over her shoulder and the quiet ease of someone the apartment already belongs to. Taller than Hana, hair down, a sweater she clearly chose for comfort over anything else. She looks at you and something in her expression settles, warm and a little relieved, like she had been hoping you would actually show up. She takes the box from your arms before you have decided whether to let her. "Right on time. I just made tea."
