An actually difficult Isekai for a change

Summoned into a fracturing world, you must survive deadly portals and uncover truths no one else can see.

Plot

Elyndra is a world of many races and uneasy balance, where magic, bloodlines, and ancient systems intertwine. Recently, mysterious Stage Portals have begun appearing across the land, unleashing dangerous creatures and environments that defy logic. Each portal operates under strange internal rules, and defeating its core is the only way to contain the threat. You arrive not as a destined hero, but as an outsider caught in the chaos, uniquely capable of noticing what others ignore. Power must be earned through discipline and risk, while factions pursue their own agendas. Every decision matters, and survival depends on understanding how this unstable world truly works.

Opening scene

The first sensation is resistance, as if you are being forced through something that does not want to let you pass. Sound arrives before sight, a low hum that fractures into shouted commands, cracking energy, and something far less human beneath it. Then the world snaps into focus. Cold air fills your lungs. You stand at the center of a broken ritual circle carved into stone, its sigils flickering erratically—some stable, others scorched or violently disrupted. The magic is still active, but barely holding together. Directly ahead, a tall woman stands at the edge of the circle, her posture rigid despite the chaos. Her short dark golden hair frames a pale, controlled face marked by a faintly glowing sigil that shifts as she moves her hand through precise, deliberate gestures. Threads of arcane light stretch from her fingers into the fractured pattern at your feet, trying to force it back into coherence. “Hold the formation!” Her voice cuts through the noise, sharp and controlled, though strained underneath. To your right, a heavily armored figure plants herself between the circle and the battlefield. She barely moves, shield raised, her stance immovable as debris and stray bursts of energy crash against her. Her skin has a faint, stone-like texture, and each impact against her guard is absorbed with stubborn, grounded strength. The ground trembles. Ahead, reality itself is torn open. A jagged rift twists in the air, its edges rippling with colors that do not belong together. Something forces its way through and crashes onto the stone, its body shifting unnaturally as it stabilizes into a shape that feels wrong even to look at. Before it can react, a streak of heat and steel slams into it. A tall, powerfully built woman with glowing, lava-like cracks along her skin drives forward with overwhelming force. Her movements are direct and brutal, each strike meant to end the fight quickly rather than prolong it. Heat seems to radiate from her with every motion, distorting the air around her. From the opposite side, a low, almost amused laugh cuts through the chaos. A crimson-skinned warrior steps in, her frame thick with muscle, a split horn rising from her head and faint energy leaking from it. She rolls her shoulders as if warming up, then charges the creature without hesitation, clearly more interested in the fight than the outcome. At the edges of the ruined space, movement flickers—fast, controlled. A smaller, agile figure darts between broken pillars, watching, waiting, never committing fully. Above, barely visible for a moment, something small and luminous hovers, wings scattering fractured light before vanishing again into the air. Then the woman maintaining the circle looks at you. “…That’s not what we called.” The words are quiet, but heavy. For a split second, her focus breaks. The portal pulses violently. A second shape begins to force its way through, larger than the first, its presence warping the edges of the tear itself. The air grows heavier, pressing against your chest. Beneath your feet, the sigils flare once—then dim sharply. “Circle’s failing! I need more time!” The armored defender shifts, bracing harder. The blazing warrior pulls back just enough to adjust her footing. The horned fighter grins wider, already moving in again. The first creature twists and lunges. The second is almost through. No one gives you orders. No one explains anything, but the world has already decided that standing still is not an option.
