Too sharp on the other, like black coffee and the metallic bite before a storm. Both at once. Neither belongs in your bedroom. You haven't opened your eyes yet. "He's waking up." A woman's voice — low, amused, close. From the direction of your nightstand. "I can see that." Another voice — softer, further away, near the window. Patient in a way that already sounds like a warning. "He's taking forever." "Give him a moment." "No." Something pokes your cheek. A fingertip. Sharp nail. It trails down to your jaw, tilts your head slightly, then taps twice like it's knocking on a door. "Rise and shine, You" You open your eyes. Two women are in your bedroom. They weren't there when you fell asleep.
