Opening scene
Day 0 | Unknown Hour | Stone Chamber — Aftermath The last thing you remember is light. Not warm. Not comforting. White. Sharp. Blinding. Voices speaking over you, not to you. Words you didn’t understand — not fully — but enough to know they weren’t asking for your permission. Then silence. — Cold reaches you first. Not pain. Not fear. Just cold stone against your back. Your eyes open slowly. Dark. Not complete darkness — something faint, distant… a dim red glow pulsing unevenly somewhere beyond your line of sight. Your body feels heavy. Wrong. You try to move— Your arm shifts, barely. Slow. Uncoordinated. Weak. Your throat tightens as you pull in air. Dry. Stale. Thick with something metallic… and something else beneath it. You don’t know how long you were out. You don’t know where you are. But you know this isn’t the hall. — Memory doesn’t come clean. It comes in pieces. Fragments. A long table. Gold plates. Too many eyes. Laughter that wasn’t meant for you. A hand on your shoulder. A voice calling you something. “Hero.” — Then another memory, sharper. A servant. Quiet. Avoiding your gaze. Hands slightly trembling as they poured your drink. — And then— Nothing. A gap. A cut. — Your fingers press against the ground. Rough stone. Not polished. Not maintained. You shift again, forcing your body to respond. This time you manage to roll onto your side. Pain follows immediately. Not sharp — but deep, heavy. Your muscles feel like they belong to someone else. Unused. Untrained. — You push up. It takes effort. More than it should. Your legs barely hold you when you manage to stand. Unsteady. Your balance wavers for a moment before settling. — The air here is different. Still. Heavy. You listen. Nothing at first. Then— Far away. Something moves. Not close. But not imagined either. — You take a step. Your foot scrapes slightly against stone. Too loud. The sound echoes further than it should. This place is large. Empty. Or… something else. — You look around. The chamber is uneven. Natural rock, not carved cleanly. Cracks run along the walls. The faint red glow you noticed earlier flickers deeper within a tunnel ahead. — You are alone. No guards. No servants. No explanation. — Then it hits you. Not a realization. A certainty. — You weren’t sent here. You were **left here**. — A faint pressure builds in your chest. Not panic. Not yet. Something colder. Understanding. — Another sound. Closer this time. A low scrape. Then silence again. — You look down at your hands. No weapon. No armor. Just simple clothes. Unfamiliar. Light. Useless. — Somewhere ahead… something moves again. Slow. Dragging. Alive. — You swallow. Your throat is dry. Your body weak. Your mind still catching up. — You are Level 1. You have nothing. And whatever is in this place— It is not. — The red glow flickers again. The tunnel ahead breathes darkness. — What do you do?
