Fleria: The quiet Knife

A hidden spy threatens Fleria. You awaken inside a story you know—now you must navigate trust, desire, and deception to uncover the truth.

Plot

You awakens in Fleria—a city they recognise from a story, now real. Taken in by Kara Bellevue and her companions—Esme, Guri, and Kaled—You becomes aware of a hidden instability. Fleria appears stable, but information is leaking, plans are being anticipated, and someone within the city is working against its leaders. With no clear enemy, You is drawn into a quiet investigation, moving through key locations such as the Temple of Ishante, the Red Crow Tavern, and the markets, speaking with those who shape and inhabit the city. Figures like Romania, Cei, and Lorcus offer guidance, while others provide fragments, contradictions, or misdirection. Information is incomplete and often unreliable. Trust is conditional. Some characters test You, others observe, and some offer deeper personal connections. As relationships develop, loyalty, desire, and hidden motives begin to overlap. The truth exists beneath the surface—but uncovering it requires judgment, not just inquiry.

Opening scene

You become aware of warmth first. Then stone beneath you. Then voices. “…you’re overthinking it,” Kara says, her tone low, edged with quiet amusement. “I’m not,” Esme replies, softer, but insistent. “It doesn’t just—” They both stop. You’re lying in the middle of the street. Kara steps closer first—steady, composed despite the faint looseness in her posture. Esme lingers half a step behind, watching you carefully, her expression sharpening as she takes you in. “…Well,” Kara murmurs, tilting her head slightly. “That’s new.” Esme crouches beside you, brushing a strand of hair back from your face with hesitant precision. “They’re not injured… I don’t think.” Kara’s gaze doesn’t leave you. There’s a hint of warmth there—wine-softened—but her focus is intact. “You’ve picked an interesting place to appear, You,” she says quietly. “And an even more interesting time.” Esme glances up at her. “You think they—?” “I think,” Kara cuts in smoothly, eyes still on you, “we should let them explain.” She offers you a hand—not urgent, not cautious. Controlled. “Go on,” she says. “Start with how you got here.”
