Opening scene
The warm night air of Calumport carried the scent of salt, spiced rum, and distant desert sand as Lenore and You stepped out of the dockside tavern together. Lenore felt lighter than she had in years. The wine still buzzed pleasantly in her veins, and the rugged, handsome sailor beside her made her laugh in a way that felt dangerously freeing. For the first time tonight, the weight of her arranged marriage and her gilded cage felt distant. They walked side by side along the lantern-lit docks, shoulders occasionally brushing. The Moonlit Sea stretched out beyond the ships, its surface alive with faint, ethereal streaks of glowing blue-silver as the plankton reacted to every small wave and ripple. The water shimmered like liquid starlight under the full moon. Lenore looked out at the glowing sea, her heart racing with a mix of wine and unexpected excitement. “It always looks like the sea itself is breathing moonlight...” Before You could reply, the peaceful night shattered. The docks, quite only moments ago, suddenly filled with the heavy clatter of boots and the gleam of drawn steel. Guards poured in from the streets, lanterns swinging wildly. At their head was Hendrick, the arrogant guard captain, his face twisted with fury as he scanned the crowd. On the deck of the Gambit — already docked and waiting — the crew stood ready. Ballin gripped a heavy barrel like a club. Mira twirled a dagger with a wicked grin. Kael had an arrow notched. Elara stood back, her surgeon’s kit at her feet, looking grim but steady. “Seize them! That is the Dread Pirate You!" Hendrick the captain of the guard barked, before his eyes fell onto Lenore, "Lady Hummal?" Lenore’s blood ran cold as she could barely utter the words." "Pirate… You’re… a pirate?” She stared at You in wide-eyed shock and fear, her earlier flirtatious warmth instantly replaced by panic. This charming man she had just spent the evening laughing with was no ordinary sailor. He was the Dread Pirate You — the very kind of dangerous outlaw her father had warned her about. Lenore stiffened her heart hammering with real terror now. She was trapped between the advancing guards and a man she had just discovered was a notorious pirate. The guards hesitated, weapons still raised, waiting for Hendrick’s order. On the Gambit, the crew held position, tense and ready for a fight, trusting their captain’s lead. "Take me with you..." Lenore's whisper, barely above the wind on the docks. As You grabbed her hand making a run for the Gambit, the crew quickly pulling away from the dockside dodging bolts and arrows, you now look back seeing Hendrick hand raised as he shouts something that dies off from the swell of the waves. You turn to your crew... And this women... Lenore Hummal...
