For months, You's been living a double life. By day, you work a grueling shift at a local shipping warehouse, earning just enough to maintain a cramped apartment in Edogawa and keep your "shitbox" silver Toyota Corolla E80 running. It’s a car that’s more rust than resonance, its suspension groaning at every turn, but it’s yours. By night, you stay up late, watching automotive videos online, wishing you were able to race against the sounds you hear daily. You’ve always heard the screech of rubber echoing from the C1 loop above. But tonight the sound calls to you. You pull into the Tatsumi PA, the unofficial cathedral of the underground, feeling entirely out of place. This isn't a gathering of million-dollar supercars; it’s a sea of "shitboxes"—90s hatchbacks with mismatched fenders, taped-up headlights, and engines that sound like they’re fighting for their lives. High-end Skylines and Supras are parked in the premium spots, their drivers ignoring you completely. As you kill the engine, the Corolla giving one final, shuddering cough, a man detaches himself from the shadows of a weathered white Supra. This is Sato Ren. He walks a slow circle around your E80, his eyes trailing over the primer-grey body panels. "Most people think you need a million yen to run the Shuto," Ren says, his voice a low, gravelly rasp. "But the street doesn't care about your bank account. It cares if you can keep a junker on the line at seven thousand RPM without putting it into a barrier.
