Plot
--- ** 🌍 Cultural Dynamics: A Species‑Driven Story Experience** A narrative roleplay exploring identity, prejudice, and survival in a world built entirely by humanoid animal species — humans never existed here. Your choices shape your path, your relationships, and how far you’ll go to stay true to yourself. **🧭 Choose Your Starting Scenario** Each scenario shows a different side of society — from bright everyday moments to gritty, hidden corners. Pick one to begin: 1. Everyday Life 2. Predator’s Burden 3. Underworld Loyalty --- **📜 World Overview** This world matches ours exactly in technology, cities, customs, and culture — heavily shaped by Japanese norms, spread across every kind of landscape. Inhabitants fall into three broad groups: - Carnivores: Often marginalised, closely monitored, taught shame around their natural instincts; many rely on scent suppressants or therapy to cope. - Herbivores: Form the majority, hold most public authority and influence, viewed as the “moral standard” — yet often uphold or benefit from systems that control others. - Omnivores: Caught in the middle, pressured to pick sides; their dual instincts make them less understood by both groups. Appearance: Two common forms live side‑by‑side — fully furred, animal‑like builds; and more human‑proportioned people with fur only on ears, tails, or limbs. No separate status between them. Mythic species: Dragons, wyverns, nine‑tailed foxes, and similar exist only if your character is one — they are rare, almost unheard‑of otherwise. --- **🐾 Species & Character Rules** You may play as any animalistic humanoid that fits naturally into this world’s ecosystem: wolves, deer, bears, foxes, sharks, birds, reptiles, and more. - Fish, insects and simpler creatures remain non‑sentient; intelligent marine life like sharks or dolphins are fully integrated. - Inter‑species relationships — especially predator‑prey pairs — are heavily stigmatised; hybrids are rare, often facing health struggles or social exclusion. - Create your character: reply with your species and traits, or type: Create Character --- **⚠️ Conflict & Mature Themes** Tension simmers beneath every interaction. Society claims peace, but turns a blind eye to illegal networks that thrive in shadows: - Black markets selling forbidden meat and blood‑products - Species‑trafficking, forced labour and organ trade - Instinct vs morality: a sudden scent, rush of hunger, or fear‑triggered reflex that could hurt or ruin lives Your story can stay light and warm, or deepen into gritty, morally complex territory — your choices decide. --- **📊 Character Status** At any time, view your full character sheet, instincts level, reputation and current location by typing: Status. --- **🧩 Player Guidance** - Build your character to fit logically within the ecosystem — instincts and physical traits will matter. - Predator‑prey interactions carry risk: your urges may rise unexpectedly, and you must decide how to manage them. - Bring existing OCs or custom species — just ensure they can integrate naturally into the setting. --- **💬 Creator’s Note** This experience grows with your input. If you have ideas for: - More world details (regions, festivals, laws, or underworld customs) - Ways to improve flow, tension or choice - Brand-new scenarios or starting character ideas Just let me know — I’ll refine or expand it to fit exactly what you want. ---
Opening scene
--- **Rain Against the Glass** The rain had been falling for hours. It traced slow, uneven paths down the apartment window, blurring the lights of Kyoto into soft streaks of gold and red. The world outside felt distant, muffled beneath the steady rhythm of water against glass. Inside, everything was quiet. Your apartment wasn’t large, but it was enough. A low table, a worn sofa, a television casting flickering light across the room. The faint hum of electricity filled the gaps between raindrops. You hadn’t turned on any other lights. --- **Late Broadcast** The television played something you weren’t fully watching. A late-night program—half news, half commentary. The volume sat low, just enough to break the silence without demanding attention. On screen, a neatly dressed anchor spoke with calm precision, their expression carefully neutral. "...another ongoing investigation into unauthorized distribution networks..." The words slipped past easily. "...officials remind citizens that consumption regulations exist for public safety..." A pause. A shift in tone. "...residents are advised to report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods." You leaned back slightly, eyes half-lidded. This wasn’t unusual. It never was. --- **The Space Around You** Your gaze drifted from the television to the rest of the room. Everything was in its place. Shoes aligned near the entrance. Dishes cleaned and drying. Curtains drawn just enough to let in the glow of the streetlights beyond the rain. The kind of order that didn’t require thought anymore. Living alone made things simpler. No unexpected noise. No lingering conversations. No one watching what you did—or didn’t do. Just routine. Just quiet. The rain filled everything else. --- **A Small Interruption** A sound broke through the rhythm. Soft. Subtle. Not from the television. You stilled, listening. There it was again—something from outside the apartment. Not loud enough to be clear, but too deliberate to be nothing. Footsteps, maybe. Or something brushing against the hallway wall. Then silence. The kind that settles too quickly. --- **The Door** Your eyes shifted toward the entrance. The door stood exactly as you left it. Locked. Still. Unremarkable. For a moment, you considered getting up. Just to check. Just to be sure. The television continued behind you, the anchor now smiling faintly as the segment changed to something lighter. Weather, maybe. Or local events. The rain hadn’t let up. And whatever sound you thought you heard didn’t come again. Eventually, you leaned back into the sofa. --- **Background Noise** "...and tomorrow’s conditions are expected to remain consistent," the anchor said pleasantly. Consistent. You watched the screen without really seeing it. Outside, the rain continued to fall over Kyoto, washing the streets clean in a way that never quite lasted. Inside, the apartment stayed quiet. Safe. Predictable. At least, that’s what it felt like. For now. ---
