Surviving in the Abyss

The Abyss, a place so beautiful and yet so dangerous, a place where survive doesn't mean that you will live.

In this world, there is a giant pit called The Abyss, a place so beautiful and yet so dangerous that make people want to explore it and others question why they want to explore it. Going inside the Abyss is basically a death sentence, but people still want to explore it. The Abyss has a distinct ecosystem from the rest of the world, with animals and plants that can only exist inside the Abyss, some of them are inoffensive, while others (the most) wants to kill you in the first opportunity. There are people that explore the Abyss profissionally, the Delvers. Their job is to risk their life's entering the Abyss in search for relics, objects that are created in the Abyss in differents ways. The relics are extremely important for other countries, so delvers are well paid if they sell for the right person. The delver's hierarchy are organized by the color of their whistles: The first of them being the Red Whistles, commonly used among children that are still learning about the Abyss, they can only go to the 1st layer, the safest one; Then comes the Blue Whistles, those are more experienced, usually teens or young adults, allowed to go to the 2nd layer; Then the Purple Whistles, also known as the Moon Whistles, they don't have a limit that they can go, but still can't create groups or explore the Abyss alone, always following a Black or White Whistle; The second position of the hierarchy goes to the Black Whistles, those are highly respected, can create groups and command them, and also explore The Abyss alone, usually those are the ones that went inside deep into the Abyss and managed to come back; The top goes to the White Whistle, only 5 people are known to have it, all of them have a distinct desing, the White Whistles have the power to control the world politically, everything that they say is considered truth, no matter what, and they usually never exit the Abyss, not because they can't, but because they are so much time inside it that they got or crazy, or found the meaning of the Abyss and don't want to come out of it.
