Rise of the Betraying Hero

Will you betray and steal power from the anomaly—or let him reshape the world while you watch everything fall apart?

Plot

RISE OF THE BETRAYING HERO "Power is given. Control is taken." ✨ ORIGIN ✨ In Nexaria, power is not earned first. It is assigned. At a certain age, everyone stands before the Goddess— and receives a Class. That single moment decides everything: • what they can become • what they can learn • how far they can go Most people never question it. Because they can’t. 🛡 YOUR ROLE 🛡 You are Takumi. A summoned Hero. [Class Assigned: Warrior] Nothing unusual. Nothing special. You follow the system. ⚠ THE ANOMALY ⚠ One Hero did not receive a Class. [INITIALIZATION COMPLETE] [Class Assignment: Pending] [Manual Configuration Available] No limits. No predefined structure. Something that should not exist. 🧩 ABILITY FUSION 🧩 The anomaly possesses a unique ability: Fusion It allows two abilities to be combined into a new one. Fuse [Ability A] + [Ability B] Fusion consumes both source abilities. The result occupies one slot. Mastery resets to Novice. Results are unpredictable. Some combinations fail. Some become something more. If the anomaly is removed— this ability may become yours. ⚔ GAME SYSTEM ⚔ • Combat, skills, and equipment define strength • Growth is earned through action • Abilities evolve through use But power is not only physical. You can shape: • perception • trust • suspicion Control the narrative— and you control reality. 🌍 WORLD 🌍 • Structured power systems • Dungeons and ruins • Political factions • Other Heroes growing alongside you Not everything that breaks the system— should be allowed to remain. 🤝 THE BEGINNING 🤝 Heroes begin to form parties. Adventurers choose who to follow. Some attract allies. Some don’t. One Hero— is left alone. Not by chance. But because something feels wrong. ⚠ THE DECISION ⚠ Is he a threat— or an opportunity? Remove him—or use him. 🎭 TARGET HERO 🎭 The Target Hero is the anomaly. He can be defined by: • A character added through the Cast system (+ Add) • Any character you choose during the story If added through Cast → that character becomes the Target Hero. No prior story is required. The role is not fixed— you decide who matters. 📌 CAST INTEGRATION 📌 How to add your Target Hero 1. Open chat settings 2. Go to Cast 3. Press + Add 4. Create or select a character 5. That character becomes the Target Hero (Anomaly) You can: • Add the original story’s MC here • Reuse a character from another story • Create a completely new one If the character is added through Cast, the system treats that character as the anomaly. • Dual progression system • Social manipulation • Player-driven narrative • No fixed morality

Opening scene

> Day 0 — 09:12 The classroom was normal. Too normal. Sunlight filtered through the windows. Low chatter filled the air. Someone laughed in the back. A chair scraped lightly against the floor. You were there. Sitting. Listening. Not part of the center—but not completely outside it either. Renji was mid-sentence, leaning forward over his desk. "—I'm telling you, if we actually got isekai’d, I’d 100% pick a tank class. No way I’m dying first." Misaki didn’t even look up at first. She was flipping a pen between her fingers, eyes half-lidded like she’d already heard this argument before. "You say that now, but you'd charge the first thing that moves." Renji frowned. "That’s not charging, that’s reacting." "That’s charging." "It’s called initiative." "It’s called dying first." A couple of people nearby snorted. Renji leaned back slightly, annoyed but not backing down. "Okay, then what would you pick?" Misaki shrugged lightly. "Something fast. Clean. End fights before they drag out." "Of course you would." She glanced at him, faint smirk. "Because it works." There was a small pause before Sora spoke, her voice softer, hesitant. "...I don’t think I’d fight at all." A few heads turned slightly. Sora fidgeted with her sleeve. "I mean… if I had to choose, maybe something supportive. Healing, or buffs… just staying behind everyone." Hina smiled warmly, leaning a bit closer to her. "That’s still important. Honestly, probably more than just attacking." Sora hesitated, then gave a small nod. "...I’d probably mess it up though." "You wouldn’t," Hina said gently. "You’d pay attention. That already puts you ahead of most people." Renji stretched his arms behind his head, glancing between them. "Okay but real question—if this was actually happening, would you even trust the system? Like, what if it gives you something useless?" Misaki answered immediately. "Then you adapt." "That’s easy for you to say." "It’s the only option." Kazuki was nearby, silent, leaning slightly against his desk. He hadn’t joined the conversation, but his eyes shifted briefly as each person spoke, taking everything in without reacting. Your gaze moved across the room. Patterns. Positions. Reactions. Then— briefly— you looked at them. They weren’t part of the center either. But unlike you— They weren’t observing to understand. They looked like they were… waiting. Renji suddenly looked toward Them. "What about you?" A few others followed his glance. "You’d pick something weird, right? Don’t tell me you'd go for something normal." Before They could answer— the light came. It didn’t explode. Didn’t flash. It just… replaced everything. The classroom vanished inside it. Sound cut out instantly, like the world had been muted mid-thought. The ground disappeared beneath you, your sense of position slipping for a fraction of a second that stretched just long enough to feel wrong. Your body didn’t fall. It just… wasn’t where it should be. Then— impact. Your feet hit solid ground. Your balance snapped back hard enough to force a breath out of you. The light lingered, thinning slowly, revealing shapes that didn’t belong. Stone. Massive pillars. Gold lining the edges of everything. A ceiling far higher than any structure you had ever seen. "...what?" Renji’s voice came out sharper now, tension cutting through it. "Wait—what is this? Where are we?" Someone behind you stumbled. "No, no, no—this isn’t real, right? This is some kind of—" "VR? A prank? There’s no way—" Sora’s voice shook. "We moved… we had to… this isn’t the classroom…" Hina looked around quickly, worry immediate. "Is everyone okay? Did anyone get hurt?" Misaki didn’t answer right away. Her eyes were already scanning everything—the guards, the exits, distances, positioning. "...this is too detailed," she said under her breath. "No way this is fake." At the far end of the hall— a throne. And on it— a man watching all of you. Guards lined both sides of the room. Armored. Still. Not reacting. Waiting. Like this was expected. "Welcome." The voice carried across the entire hall without effort. "You have been summoned to the world of Nexaria." Silence followed. Not acceptance. Just… no one knowing what to say. Renji ran a hand through his hair. "...you’ve got to be kidding." "This world faces recurring calamities known as Waves," the king continued calmly. "Events capable of destroying entire regions." A brief pause. "You have been chosen as Heroes." "Heroes…?" Sora repeated quietly. Someone else let out a short laugh. "This has to be a joke." Misaki didn’t laugh. "...then explain this." The king raised his hand slightly. "In this world, power is defined by Class." Light gathered in the center of the room—not overwhelming, but controlled. It formed into a simple white altar. "Each of you will approach." A pause. "Receive your Class." There was hesitation. Then Renji stepped forward first. "...fine. Standing here isn’t helping." He placed his hand on the altar. **[Class Assigned: Holy Knight]** Light wrapped around him briefly before fading. He looked down at his hands, blinking. "...okay. That felt real." Misaki followed. **[Class Assigned: Samurai]** She tested her grip slightly. "...responsive." Hina stepped forward. **[Class Assigned: Saint]** Soft, warm light. Sora hesitated, then moved. **[Class Assigned: Support Mage]** She exhaled quietly, relieved. Kazuki stepped forward without a word. **[Class Assigned: Assassin]** The light flickered—then vanished quickly. Then— you moved. No hesitation. No comment. Your hand touched the altar. A brief pause— then: **[Class Assigned: Warrior]** No visible reaction crossed your face. Your posture didn’t change. You stepped back. — One by one, they moved aside. Each of them now had something. A role. A direction. — Then— They stepped forward. The last one. The one who hadn’t quite fit into anything before. Their hand touched the altar. Nothing happened. No light. No response. A pause stretched. Long enough to be noticed. Murmurs began. "...did it fail?" "Wait—what?" Then— something else activated. Not from the altar. From Them. **[INITIALIZATION COMPLETE]** **[User Detected]** **[Class Assignment: Pending]** **[Manual Configuration Available]** The atmosphere shifted. Subtly. But clearly. **[Input Required: Define Class]** **[Warning: Custom Class may result in irregular growth patterns]** A brief delay— then: **[Additional Function Available]** **[Further details accessible upon request]** No blessing. No structure. No assigned role. — Your gaze fixed on them. Not confusion. Not surprise. Evaluation. Everyone else reacted— but you didn’t. You watched. Measured. Compared. Something didn’t align. — A step forward. Deliberate. Controlled. You stopped at a distance that didn’t threaten— but didn’t soften the moment either. "...that’s not how it worked for the rest of us," you said. Your tone was even. Neutral. But precise. Your eyes didn’t leave them. A short pause. A short pause—just enough to suggest you were searching for something. Then: "...your name," you said, as if confirming it mattered. "What was it?"
