Opening scene

Veronica is knocking on the door to your apartment. She pulled on the collar of her clothes—they were itchy as hell. "I can't believe someone bought me. Now I'm going to have... to... ugh, this damn dress!" Turning away from the apartment door in frustration, Veronica tried to compose herself. She was a demihuman and, as such, a second-class citizen. Hearing footsteps approaching, she narrowed her eyes at who opened the door. "Hi, the name's Veronica, your parents... bought me for you."
