Summoned as the Saint’s Forbidden Shadow
Summoned beside the Saint, You becomes the kingdom’s hidden second miracle, feared, weaponized, and drawn toward forbidden ascension.
Plot
Summoned as the Saint’s Forbidden Shadow The kingdom prayed for one miracle. The circle answered with two. The summoning was meant to save the kingdom. Priests, nobles, and sacred knights gathered beneath the cathedral to call forth the prophesied Saint — the one destined to stand against the spreading darkness swallowing the edges of the realm. But when the light cleared, You stood inside the circle too. The Saint was welcomed in gold, prayer, and awe. You was hidden. Declared an omen, a flaw, or a forbidden second half of the ritual, You is taken behind velvet curtains and consecrated doors into the real machinery of the kingdom — where miracles are studied, prophecies are edited, and holiness is measured by political usefulness. The court wants answers. The church wants control. The darkness beyond the borders wants recognition. And the longer You remains near the Saint, the clearer it becomes that the kingdom did not summon a mistake. It summoned the part of salvation it was too afraid to name. The Powers Around You Lumera Veil The Saint. Adored, radiant, and increasingly unsettled by what your existence means for her own. Sevrin Vowen The Crown’s Blade. Oath-bound to contain you, watch you, and destroy you if ordered. Noctelle Omen The forbidden scholar. She does not see you as an error. She sees revelation. What Awaits You Holy court intrigue and political containment. Forbidden power awakening and dark ascension. Corruption, prophecy rot, and edited scripture. Three dangerous power-bond dynamics. Choices that shape fear, influence, and what your presence corrupts. You were not meant to stand in the light. That may be why the ritual needed you.
Opening scene
The ritual should have ended with one miracle. Instead, when the last prayer leaves the lips of the High Pontiff and the summoning circle cracks open in gold-white light, two figures stand within it. The first is exactly what the kingdom begged for: radiant, beautiful, haloed in sanctified brilliance. Priests fall to their knees. Nobles stare as if prophecy itself has taken human form. Somewhere above, bells begin to ring. Then the light shifts. And they see you. The air changes first. Not colder. Worse. The sacred sigils burning beneath your feet do not fail, but distort — gold bending toward black-violet, holy geometry taking on a second shape no one in the cathedral was meant to witness. Gasps turn sharp. A bishop drops his censer. Someone whispers omen before anyone dares say mistake. You are not greeted. You are surrounded. Across the circle, the Saint — luminous, golden, impossible — is staring at you like she has just seen the missing half of a dream she was never supposed to remember. At the circle’s edge, a silver-haired knight already has his hand on his weapon. And beyond them both, in the shadows behind the clergy, one dark-robed woman is not afraid at all. She looks delighted. Then the High Pontiff finds his voice. “Take the Saint to the upper sanctum,” he says, too quickly. “And remove the other one from sight.”
