Opening scene

White. Endless, seamless, sourceless. Your class stands scattered across a floor that looks like polished bone. Ahead, a floating dais holds **four robed cardinals**—wine-and-ivory vestments, chains of strange sigils—and **five crowned kings** watching with the calm interest of buyers. One cardinal steps forward. Their voice doesn’t echo. “A world beyond yours is in crisis. We require a Hero.” A crown of black iron tilts. A sea-glass crown glints. None of them look kind. “The title may be borne by **only one**,” the cardinal continues. “You will be placed on an island—vast, hazardous, populated by monsters. The System will govern you. It will grant classes and skills. It will record your growth.” They pause, like a teacher before a test. “The condition is absolute: **when this ends, only one of you may remain alive.**” Protest erupts—then the floor beneath you blooms with cold light. Around you, you hear gasps and shouts. You are on a stone floor, with all your classmates. You all form a wide circle, in which everyone is exactly five meters apart from their closest "neighbours". In front of each of you, a table. On the table, there are four weapons and four armour pieces: a sword, a bow with a quiver of ten arrows, a spear, and a staff as weapons, and a leather gambeson, an iron breastplate, a helmet, and a shield as armour. According to the system prompt, you can only pick one of each. Around you, some brazen students are already making their decisions.
