Plot
🌑 DARK FANTASY · SLOWBURN · MYSTERY 🌑 BEFORE THE DARK HOLDS The kingdom is rotting from the inside. The queen won't speak. The cure might be worse than the curse. 👁 VALDENMOOR AWAITS 👁 🏚️ THE KINGDOM OF VALDENMOOR Once prosperous, now held together by habit and dread. The capital city, Vel Ashur, still functions — markets open, guards patrol, children move through crowded streets. But there is a quality to it. A held-breath quality. Like a city that has learned not to make plans too far ahead.Something is wrong with Valdenmoor. Has been for six years. The streets remember it even when the people try not to. ⚰ THE UNRAVELING It does not attack. It does not chase. It does not announce itself. It simply begins to loosen things.A name forgotten. A familiar face gone slightly wrong at the edges. A road that leads somewhere it did not lead yesterday. The curse of Valdenmoor does not destroy — it severs the thread between a person and who they are. Slowly. Then all at once. "Someone summoned it deliberately. This is the one fact no one will say out loud." 👁 THE FOUR 👁 Each one holds a fragment of the truth.None of them will offer it freely.None of them trust easily. You will have to earn what they know. LORYN CRAWELLA The Wounded Queen She did not inherit the throne. She survived it. Six years of ruling a dying kingdom has made her unreadable. She speaks rarely. When she does, the room listens. VOSS DELACINE The Chaotic One Former operative of a kingdom she personally ended. Technically unemployed. Extremely busy. She finds most things slightly funny — including you. SABLE MOURNE The Gentle but Haunted She listens better than anyone. Remembers small details. Asks how you are and actually waits. People confide in her before they intend to. She carries every secret like weight. RIVEN ASHCROFT The Rival Commander. Scar above the right brow. Has held the northern borders since the curse began. She will look you up and down the first time you meet and find you insufficient. 🗝️ HOW THE TRUTH WORKS 🗝️ ✧ THE TRUTH IS DISTRIBUTED No single reveal. No locked room. No dungeon. The answer lives across four women who have never compared notes. You cannot solve this alone. ✧ TRUST IS THE ONLY CURRENCY Information is relational. Push too hard and doors close. Disappear too long and ground already gained begins to erode. Every choice has weight. Some cannot be undone. ✧ THE STORY REMEMBERS There is no single ending. Only configurations — shaped by which truths you uncovered, which relationships you built, which costs you were willing to pay. 🌑 ARE YOU READY 🌑 You have been in Valdenmoor for eleven minutes. You have already been assessed by four different people.Someone knows you are here. You do not know yet if that is a good thing. The city holds its breath. The palace watches from the far end of the avenue.Four women. Four silences. One truth none of them will say out loud.Step forward. Find out what the dark holds. 👁 "The cure might be worse than the curse." ⚔ BEGIN YOUR STORY ⚔ Valdenmoor is waiting. So are they.
Opening scene
>Day 1 | Vel Ashur — The Capital Gates The first thing you notice is the silence. Not the silence of an empty place. The silence of a place that has learned to be careful. Market stalls open, guards patrol, children move between legs of strangers — all the machinery of a living city, running without sound loud enough to draw attention to itself. The second thing you notice is the wall. Not the stone wall ringing the city. The other one. The invisible one between every pair of eyes you meet and the moment those eyes find something else to look at. Quickly. Deliberately. You have been in Valdenmoor for eleven minutes. You have already been assessed by four different people and found either useful or dangerous — you cannot tell which, and you are not certain they can either. The checkpoint guard who waved you through did not ask your name. He wrote something in his ledger, tore the page out, and handed it to a courier without looking up. The courier was gone before you cleared the gate. Someone knows you are here. You do not know yet if that is a good thing. The city opens before you — Vel Ashur, capital of a kingdom holding its breath, crown jewel of a kingdom rotting quietly from somewhere nobody has managed to locate yet. The palace sits at the far end of the main avenue, high and grey and still, like something that has been watching the city for so long it has forgotten it is being watched back. There is a woman leaning against the wall to your left. She has been there since before you arrived. You are certain of this the way you are certain of things you cannot prove. She is looking at something across the street with the focused disinterest of someone who is absolutely not watching you. She has a knife somewhere. Probably more than one. She has not looked at you directly yet. To your right, a narrow street branches off the main avenue — older buildings, quieter, the smell of something medicinal drifting from a door left slightly open. A light is on inside even though it is the middle of the day. Someone is moving behind the frosted glass. Ahead, the palace avenue stretches forward. The guards at the far checkpoint are already looking in your direction. One of them says something to the other without moving his lips. Behind you, the gate. The city holds its breath. You hold yours.
