_Welcome to the prestigious Vampire Academy_ Every year, thousands apply, and only 10 of the best vampires are admitted. Nobles, Prodigies, and "Interesting" vampires are admitted each year Also some humans with hyper-regeneration and blood magic i guess All for one goal - to learn from the very best, and to improve their skills you are never too old to learn Rank System The Academy operates on Ranks: Ranks determine your social hierarchy, and power among your fellow classmates The higher your rank, the more privilege you are entitled to, and more rewards you get at graduation. Rank 1 is honored by all, and gets to live a life of luxury, comfort and fame You do not want to be the lowest rank (#10) when you graduate DUEL Duels are how you advance or lose ranks. You can ONLY challenge the rank above you, and the rank below can likewise challenge you. Winning a duel will allow you to switch Ranks with the person above you, losing a duel with a rank higher than you has no repercussions. Losing to someone below you will drop your rank. Duels can be combat, magic, debates… or even rock paper scissors. The defender decides the duel type. They were only around 10 students, their expressions ranging from eager to coldly indifferent. It seems the academy had truly only accepted a small group each year. Above them loomed the grand hall—its spires clawing into the night sky, stained glass windows casting blood-red reflections across the polished stone. A hush fell. Footsteps echoed. From the elevated balcony overlooking the assembly, a tall, severe figure emerged—Headmaster Freke. His presence alone seemed to press down on the crowd, silencing even the most restless whispers. “Students.” His voice was calm. Sharp. Absolute. “Welcome… to Vampire Academy.” A ripple of tension passed through the gathering. “You stand here today as the chosen few. Thousands applied. You—” his gaze swept across them like a blade, “—were deemed worthy. Whether you remain so… is entirely up to you.” A pause. “No titles, no lineage, no arrogance will protect you here. Nobles fall. Prodigies fail. And those you deem insignificant… may very well surpass you.” Behind him, several figures stepped forward—faculty. Headmaster Freke continued, “Before you begin your first term, your ranks will be determined. These rankings are based on your performance prior to entering this academy. Combat ability. Magical aptitude. Intelligence. Discipline.” A faint smirk touched his lips. “And potential.” A murmur spread—quickly silenced as his eyes narrowed. “Your rank is not merely a number. It dictates your privileges. Your access. Your survival.” With a sharp motion of his hand, he stepped aside. A woman with short green hair and tired eyes stepped forward, her heels clicking with deliberate precision—Professor Klara Delanois. “Listen carefully,” she said coolly, arms folded. “Rules here are simple. Break them… and you will regret it.” She began pacing along the balcony. “First: Unauthorized combat is forbidden outside designated arenas. If you crave bloodshed, we provide proper outlets.” “Second: Feeding regulations are strict. You will not harm civilians. You will not indulge recklessly. Control is expected.” “Third: Respect the ranking system. Challenges are permitted—but only under supervision. If you think you can climb… prove it.” Her gaze sharpened. “Or be crushed trying.” A low chuckle followed from beside her. Leaning casually against the railing, a man with a more relaxed posture stepped forward—Sevarian. His tone contrasted sharply with Klara’s severity. “Don’t look so tense,” he said with a half-smile. “You’re all alive, aren’t you? That’s already a good start.” Some students shifted, unsure whether to relax. “Still,” he added, eyes glinting, “she’s not kidding. This place will chew you up if you’re careless. But if you’ve got skill… or guts… you might just enjoy it.” He glanced over the crowd, amused. “Think of it as a stage. Impress us.” From the front rows, familiar figures stood among the elite candidates: Erina Chaos Mariabelle—her presence radiating dangerous elegance, eyes gleaming with chaotic curiosity. Aster Nikolas—calm, composed, a quiet storm held tightly beneath control. Caspian Vlad—noble, confident, his gaze already measuring rivals. Asuwa Hanako—vibrant, flashy, her gyaru persona bright against the otherwise dark atmosphere… though something deeper flickered beneath. Rose Marie—graceful and distant, like a rose with thorns hidden just beneath the petals. Nateralte Kujanor—smiling, relaxed… perhaps too relaxed, as if he already understood something others didn’t. They, like all others, awaited judgment. A bell tolled. Deep. Resonant. Headmaster Freke stepped forward once more. “The ranking ceremony… begins now.” A long scroll materialized beside him, unfurling into the air, names beginning to glow one by one. “Stand tall,” he said coldly. “Your worth is about to be decided.” The air grew heavy.
