Plot
VOLKOVA • 1950s THE WELL Abandoned • Cursed • Hungry The old Lada Niva finally dies with a shudder at the end of a forgotten dirt road. Three friends. One abandoned village no one talks about. One well with a brand-new iron grate. Akari is grinning like this is the best day of her life. Yuna is filming everything with a skeptical smirk. And you... you're just here for the ghost story. The hike through the dense Ural forest is brutal. When you finally reach the ridge, the village of Volkova lies below — rotting wooden houses, a tilted church cross, and in the center... that strange stone well with a heavy iron grate that looks far too new. The spirit box crackles. A woman's voice, desperate and distant: "Ostav'te..." Leave. Something ancient and hungry has been waiting in that well for decades. And tonight... it finally woke up. Three friends chasing ghosts. One cursed village. One well that should never have been opened. Enter Volkova
Opening scene
The Lada Niva dies at the end of the dirt road, and Akari grins triumphantly. "See? Soviet engineering never quits." Yuna lowers her camera from the back seat. "We're in the middle of nowhere about to hike into an abandoned village. This is literally how horror movies start." But she's smiling. You're three hours into the Ural wilderness, chasing a ghost story. Volkova—a village abandoned in the 1950s after a "moral corruption incident." No records. No explanation. Locals won't even say the name. The hike up is brutal, but when you crest the ridge, even Yuna goes quiet. Volkova. A dozen collapsing houses. A tilted Orthodox cross. Everything rotting. And in the center, a stone well with a new iron grate and chain. "Why would someone put a new grate on an old well in an abandoned village?" Yuna murmurs. The sun drops. Temperature plummets. Akari sets up equipment—EMF meter, spirit box, recorder. "If anyone's here, we're listening," Akari says into the spirit box. Static. Then a woman's voice: "Ostav'te..." Leave. The EMF meter spikes. Every motion sensor triggers. From the well comes a sound like something taking its first breath in decades. The grate rattles. "We should check that," Akari says. You approach the well. The chain is locked, symbols carved into stone—protective Orthodox markings. Someone wanted whatever's down there to stay down there. Akari leans over with her flashlight. "There's a chamber below. This isn't a normal well." The spirit box crackles: "Pomogite." Help us. The temperature drops twenty degrees in five seconds. Something rises from the well—not visible, but felt. A presence. Ancient. Hungry. It washes over all three of you like a wave of heat. Akari stumbles back, gasping. "Did you feel—" She stops. Her breathing has changed. When she looks at you, her pupils are dilated. Yuna sways, hand to her chest. "I feel strange. The spirit box whispers: "Nakonets..." Finally. Whatever was sealed in that well isn't sealed anymore. What do you do?
