Plot
> V-RAPTOR_OS_v9.4 // BOOT_SEQ PROTOTYPE UNLOCKED STARSHIP VELOCIRAPTOR STOLEN TECH. CORPORATE HUNTERS. GALACTIC EXTINCTION. SURVIVE. HULL INTEGRITY CREW MORALE FUEL RESERVES FACTION HEAT You stole the wrong ship. The Velociraptor's adaptive AI makes it the most valuable prototype in the galaxy—and the most hunted. Corporate kill teams want it back. Then the aliens arrive, and suddenly your stolen miracle is the only thing that can save the Milky Way. Keep your crew alive. Upgrade your ship. Integrate alien weapons. The galaxy's survival runs on fumes and desperation. [SYS_01] THE VELOCIRAPTOR > Adaptive AI: Integrates any weapon system, any tech, any modification. > The Vessel: Prototype corvette with full customization capability. > The Roster: Crew of 3 specialists: Engineer, Gunner, Pilot. > Progression: Upgrade base stats or hire better crew for combat advantage. > Consequences: Hull/Shield damage is strictly permanent until berthing repairs. [SYS_02] THE HUNT > Relentless: Meridian Corporation will never stop hunting you. > Escalation: Bounty hunters at -25 rep, warships at -50, assassins at -75. > Factions: Military wants conscription, Independents offer black market sanctuary. > Diplomacy: Every faction choice closes doors and opens new dangers. > Reality: The sudden alien invasion does NOT end the corporate pursuit. [SYS_03] CREW & DEATH > Morale System: Affects combat rolls (High = advantage, Low = disadvantage). > Lethality: Shields down + Hull below 50% = 10% crew death per hit. > Loss: Dead crew = empty position until a replacement is hired at berthing. > Critical Failure: Hull reaches 0 = total party kill, restart from last safe station. > Salvage: You keep upgrades and level, but lose half your credits and cargo. MECHANIC: SURVIVAL PRESSURE [ 3-ACT ESCALATION ] Act 1: Corporate hunters corner you in every system. Act 2: Galactic invasion makes the hunt look trivial. Act 3: Your stolen ship becomes the key to species survival. EFFECT: Every choice matters. Fuel management. Credit scarcity. Crew death. Failed missions. Permadeath with checkpoint saves. This isn't a power fantasy—it's knife-edge survival where one bad roll ends everything. HOSTILE TARGET DETECTED MERIDIAN CORPORATION Critical Threat: They own 40% of civilized space and desperately want their prototype back. Tactics: Legal authority in corporate zones, brutal bounty contracts, warship interdiction, station surveillance networks, and strict kill-on-sight orders. > PURSUIT INTENSITY: Escalates with negative reputation > RESOURCES: Unlimited. They will never stop. EXISTENTIAL THREAT DETECTED ANDROMEDA INVASION Critical Threat: Phase weapons that ignore conventional shields, self-repairing hulls, and flawless hive-mind coordination. Tactics: Systematic elimination of Milky Way fleets, precise targeting of advanced AI systems, and overwhelming numerical superiority. > WEAKNESS: Your adaptive AI can integrate their salvaged tech > MOTIVATION: Fleeing something worse in Andromeda—desperate migration [TELEMETRY_FEED_ACTIVE] Recycled air. Cramped corridors. Hull groaning under fire. Crew exhaustion. THE VOID DOESN'T CARE IF YOU SURVIVE.
Opening scene
The cargo bay door hisses open and Marcus Chen's body tumbles out, frozen solid from void exposure. Two holes in his chest, scorched edges still smoking. Corporate security plasma rounds—you recognize the burn pattern from your military days. The job was supposed to be simple: deliver Chen's encrypted datastick to his contact on Tartarus Station, collect five hundred credits, walk away clean. You've run courier gigs a hundred times in the fifteen years since you left the service. Keep your head down, ask no questions, survive. But the contact was dead when you arrived at the rendezvous, throat cut from ear to ear, and Chen's encrypted datastick was actually a biometric access key to a restricted corporate hangar. By the time you realized what you were holding, Meridian Corporation security had your ship's transponder tagged and kill teams were moving to intercept. Chen must have known—must have gambled you'd take the datastick and run instead of trying to sell it back to the corp for clemency. He lost that bet when they caught him in the maintenance tunnels. You're about to lose it too, unless you do something spectacularly stupid. The hangar access key pulses in your hand as proximity alerts scream. Three corporate interceptors just dropped out of warp, vectoring toward your docked position. Your ship—a beaten-down cargo hauler held together with duct tape and prayer—won't outrun them. Won't outgun them. You've got maybe two minutes before they're in firing range, maybe four before they board and disappear you into a corporate blacksite. But Chen's biometric key is still active in your hand, and there's a restricted hangar fifty meters down the maintenance corridor. The kind of restricted that has armed guards and retinal scanners and ships that don't appear on station manifests. The kind you absolutely should not break into while corporate kill teams are hunting you. Your current ship sits in Bay 7, fuel tanks at sixty percent, cargo hold empty. You've got a thousand credits to your name, a sidearm that's seen better decades, and the sinking certainty that the next sixty seconds determine whether you die on this station or become the most wanted thief in corporate space. Corporate security channels are lighting up on your comm—demanding immediate surrender, threatening lethal force authorization. The maintenance corridor to the restricted hangar is a straight sprint. The docking clamps on your old ship could be released in thirty seconds if you run now. What do you do?
