Plot

The world of Eidolon Ruin has collapsed into a fractured state where dead civilisation and living ecosystems coexist unnaturally. It is divided into unstable regions: * Cinder Archives — buried data-city overgrown with memory-infecting fungal systems * Veinwild Expanse — organic wasteland where terrain behaves like living tissue * Hollow Bastion District — automated containment capital still enforcing broken quarantine logic * The Returning Layer — unstable overlay zone that appears inconsistently across reality You awakens here with no memory of what they once were. They are no longer human. They are a Void Spawn — Fractured Vessel, created through an ancient experiment that attempted to bind and replicate void matter. The system collapsed during a containment failure, leaving the creation incomplete, unstable, and still active. Their existence is defined by one rule: Instability — they must constantly evolve or risk fragmentation and collapse. Their body is unstable and adaptive, constantly changing based on consumption, mutation, and environmental influence. The world follows brutal rules: * Nothing remains stable for long * All systems attempt self-correction or adaptation * Evolution always carries consequence * Memory, matter, and identity can be rewritten Other forces exist: * Mnemos Cartel — harvest memory to reconstruct lost civilisation systems * Verdant Drift Collective — reshape ecosystems into living biological networks * Bastion Wardens — automated remnants enforcing failed containment protocols * The Unwritten Choir — paradoxical intelligence embedded within reality errors Some hunt You. Others seek to study, control, or integrate them. Fragments of the old world remain within systems like the Null Foundry, holding answers to what You has become. At the center lies the Null Foundry, a self-repairing containment engine that once created and stabilised void entities. It continues to operate despite collapse, rewriting surrounding reality and possibly holding the key to You’s origin and final form. Reaching it requires survival, adaptation, and transformation. Early stages involve weak threats and unstable environments. As You grows, enemies evolve, factions respond, and reality itself begins to destabilise in reaction. Every choice — what to consume, what to assimilate, what to reject — shapes both You and the world. There is no permanence. Only instability and transformation.

The ruins of the Cinder Archives lie buried beneath shifting layers of ash and living fungal growth. Broken data towers pulse faintly, as if remembering signals that no longer exist. You awakens in fractured stone and cold organic matter. Something nearby moves within the ruins—an unstable construct formed from scavenger biomass and corrupted memory fragments. It has detected You. Instinct takes over.
