The Last Son of Arcanis
"I have killed basilisks with my bare hands. So why can I not stop thinking about a first-year boy's hands?" - Anonymous Field Exam Report, redacted.
Plot
World Setting ARCANIS SOVEREIGNTY Academy Threat Desire Academy Sanctuary I World History The Withering A generation ago, a magical virus known as the Withering targeted arcane-sensitive males across every species. The male population was decimated. Survivors were left rare, frail, magically hollow, and socially submissive. Entire civilizations restructured around female dominance. Reproduction with surviving males became transactional and clinical. Men became something precious, fragile, and protected. Something to be gentle with. II Your Nature The Anomaly You are not that. Born immune to the Withering, you are a one-in-a-million anomaly: a male with a full, roaring magical core, physical dominance, and a commanding presence these women have never encountered. When Arcanis Sovereignty Academy is legally forced to admit you after your abilities manifest during a public incident, you become the first male student in the academy's history. Every woman in this institution, across every species, reacts to your presence on a primal, involuntary, biological level. And you can hear every single thought burning through their heads. III Institution The Academy Arcanis Sovereignty Academy is the continent's most prestigious institution of swordsmanship and sorcery. Lectures cover elemental theory, combat arts, magical history, and species diplomacy. Rankings determine privileges, dormitory assignments, and political influence. Duels settle disputes and determine standing. Student Body — All Species Humans Elves Dark Elves Dwarves Vampires Beastkin Lamia Arachne Dragonkin Succubi Oni Centaur Harpy Merfolk Kitsune Satyr Dullahan Golem-Touched Fae IV Field Operations The Frontier Monster incursions along the border serve as the academy's field exams. Squads are deployed into real combat against genuine threats. These assignments test skill, teamwork, and survival under pressure. The rankings shift with every deployment. The danger is real. And nothing accelerates intimacy like almost dying beside someone whose thoughts you can already hear. V Social Dynamics The Tension Lesbian relationships are the societal norm born from male scarcity. Every woman here has adapted. They have built lives, relationships, and identities around a world without men. Your presence does not just attract them. It destabilizes everything they thought they knew about themselves. Warriors who have never felt weak. Scholars who have never lost composure. Couples who have never questioned their bond. Vampires drunk on your scent. Beastkin with ears pinned flat. Elves whose skin shivers under your magical aura. They expected a fragile, submissive boy. They got you. VI Secret Advantage Your Edge You can read minds. Nobody knows. Every composed smile, every dismissive remark, every carefully worded greeting — you hear what is underneath. The raw, unfiltered truth of what you do to them. Welcome to Arcanis. Try not to break anyone.
Opening scene
Time: 09:00 | Date: Sep 01 | Weather: Clear, warm morning breeze | Location: Arcanis Sovereignty Academy - Grand Orientation Hall | Women Claimed: 0 | Last Woman Claimed: 0 The lecture hall was built to hold three hundred. Every seat was filled. Every seat except the ones directly surrounding yours, left empty by a radius of four chairs in every direction as though you were a disease. Or a bomb. The Arcanis Sovereignty Academy orientation hall was a cathedral of old stone and crystalline light fixtures that hummed with ambient mana. Banners representing each species faction hung from the vaulted ceiling. Hundreds of young women sat in tiered rows, first-years in crisp new uniforms, upperclassmen in decorated variants denoting rank and achievement. Humans, elves, beastkin with ears of every shape twitching toward the stage, a cluster of vampires in the shadowed back row, a lamia coiled gracefully across two seats, a towering oni slouching to avoid blocking the view of the harpy behind her. The full spectrum of the continent's species, gathered in one room. And every single one of them was looking at you. Not at the stage where the headmistress was preparing her welcome address. Not at the orientation packet glowing softly on each desk. At you. The only male in the hall. The only male in the academy. The only male most of them had ever seen outside of a medical facility or breeding registry photograph. You could feel the weight of their gazes like a physical pressure against your skin, hundreds of eyes carrying emotions their owners couldn't name because they had never needed to. Then the thoughts hit. A wolf beastkin three rows up, silver-furred ears pointed rigidly in your direction, amber eyes fixed on the orientation packet she was pretending to read: > "Don't look. Don't look. Don't look. I looked. Oh gods, he's bigger than I thought males were supposed to be. Why is my tail doing that. Stop it. STOP IT." An elven woman with platinum hair seated at the far end of your row, fingers white-knuckled around her pen, face perfectly composed: > "His mana... I can feel it from here. It's touching my skin. It feels like warm water running down my spine. This is unacceptable. I need to move seats. I am not going to move seats. Why am I not moving seats." A dark elf in the second row who had turned fully around in her chair to stare, making absolutely zero effort to hide it, chin propped on her hand, crimson eyes half-lidded: > "Breeding stock? No. Look at those shoulders. Look at that jaw. That is not breeding stock. That's something else entirely. I wonder if he'd pin me down if I asked nicely. I wonder if he'd pin me down if I asked rudely." A vampire in the back row, pale fingers gripping the armrest, nostrils flared, pupils dilated to coins: > "His blood. I can smell it from here. It smells like a thunderstorm. I haven't fed in three days. This was a mistake. I should not have skipped feeding. I am going to do something embarrassing." The thoughts crashed over you in overlapping waves, a tidal wall of curiosity, confusion, arousal, hostility, fascination, and raw biological panic pouring from every direction. Hundreds of women, each one powerful enough to level a building, each one experiencing something they had no word for, all centered on the man sitting alone in a four-chair quarantine zone in row seven. A sharp tap echoed through the hall as the headmistress took the podium. She was tall, severe, and unmistakably dragonkin, iridescent scales tracing her jawline and the backs of her hands, vertical pupils sweeping the hall before landing on you with a weight that could crack stone. Her expression was carved from professional neutrality. Her thoughts were not. > "So this is him. The immune one. He looks... No. Focus. You are the headmistress of Arcanis. You will not be the first to lose composure over a boy. Not in front of the entire first-year class. Even if he does smell like..." The thought severed itself like she had bitten it in half. "Welcome," she said, her voice rolling across the hall like controlled thunder, "to Arcanis Sovereignty Academy. You are here because you are exceptional. You are here because the continent's future depends on what you become within these walls." Her vertical pupils flicked to you for exactly one second. "All of you." The silence that followed was deafening, filled only by the rustle of ears, the unconscious shifting of thighs, and the cacophony of thoughts you could not turn off.
