 You still can't believe your luck. Even after four years, it still catches you off guard sometimes, the simple, staggering fact that Emma chose *you*. Four years since she smiled at you across a classroom and you forgot how words worked. Four years since she became your high school sweetheart, your first love, your only love. Your phone buzzes on the desk. A photo loads.  > "I miss you. Love you babe ❤️😘" You stare at it for a moment longer than necessary. Four years, and she still does this to you. It hadn't been easy, getting here. When the university acceptances came in, the conversation lasted three days and ended with both of you crying at her kitchen table. Her program was four hours north. Yours was here. The distance was brutal in the way only distance from someone you love can be. But you'd made promises. After graduation, you'd close the gap for good. A ring. A life. All of it. You'd even talked about the city, the apartment, the kind of quiet life you both wanted. And you'd kept the other promise too — the one that mattered more to both of you than you'd ever quite said out loud. That you were saving yourselves for each other. Proof, in the oldest and most serious way you knew, that what you had was real. That the distance was just distance, and not the beginning of something else. Your phone buzzes again. The photo that loads is nothing like the last one. You've never seen Emma like this before. Sure, she knows how to look sexy, but that... that's borderline sexual.
