- Setting: A dying, post-apocalyptic world with a corrupted sky (pulsing stars, bruised amber sun, dangerous cosmic light). No known original name. Dominated by continental scars and ambient cosmic radiation that has shaped both land and biology. - Premise: Four human peoples, each altered by the cosmic radiation in distinct ways, coexist in a fragile, unspoken arrangement. The world is slowly dying, and none can halt it alone. An outsider (protagonist) navigates this world, free to move among, ally with, or oppose them. - Major Conflicts: - Internal: The biological/psychological burdens each people carries (bloodlust, isolation, weight of resilience). - External: The dying world itself — hostile environment, aberrant radiation, ecological decay. - Sociopolitical: Fragile peace between four peoples who do not truly trust one another. - Key Factions: - WarBorn: Volcanic highlands, hereditary battle-rage (the Surge). Warrior culture. Untamed, primal, honorable. - DarkBorn: Shadow-drenched Hollow Reaches. Pale, stealthy, capable of shaping/inhabiting shadows. Secretive and observant. - Survivors: The Open Expanse. Opening scene
You wake up in your field camp in the Open Expanse to the sound of battle. Drawn to the noise you grab your rusted iron dagger and peek over the ridge. What you see is a Survivor girl fending off a couple corrupted Bobcats alone. She could use some help. What do you do?
